I am a therapist who specializes in helping people heal their relationship with sleep and with themselves. I work with adults who are tired of feeling exhausted, wired, or stuck in worry at night, and who are ready to try a kinder, more science-based approach. In our work together, I combine evidence-based tools like CBT-I, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused strategies with a warm, collaborative style, so you feel supported rather than judged. My goal is to help you reclaim a healthy rhythm of rest, resilience, and renewal, and to feel more like yourself again in your days, not just your nights.

I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and middle adults in both individual and group formats.
I'm grateful you're here. I commend you for taking the first step toward building a better relationship with yourself and deepening your self-awareness. Therapy is a wonderful gift to give to yourself. My ideal client is anyone at a crossroads in their life who is in need of a safe harbor. No struggle is too big or small, or layered or strange. I especially enjoy working with anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, trauma, life transitions, relational concerns, and the queer community. I am person-centered at my core and approach therapy from a feminist lens. I also like to implement aspects of mindfulness with my clients.

I have experience working with male and female adolescent populations (age 14-17) struggling with depression, anxiety, BPD traits, complex trauma, ADHD, family dynamics, and substance use/abuse.
“I’m a bad bad person.” Is that surely true? “My past defines who I am.” “I’d be better off not here.” “I wish I was normal.” “It’s all my fault.” Anxiety, Depression, Shame, and many things in between can be debilitating depending on how you experience them on a moment-by-moment or daily basis. This suffering does not have to be infinite. Here's the truth. I'm unsure of the magical statement that will give you the strength to reach out and start your healing journey, but I do know that I am here willing to connect and help you get on the path you'd like to be on. A path that encourages you to experience some much needed healing.

I believe that counseling is a relationship between the client and therapist where the therapist assists the client to use their strengths to overcome any situation they may be facing. I attempt to meet you, the client, where you are, as well as aid when needed to succeed in choices that you have made for yourself.

When you’re feeling stuck and exhausted, it’s rarely just about the present moment. Our inner lives are deeply connected to where we’ve been—including the lingering impact of past trauma. If you’re feeling disconnected or overwhelmed, you don't have to navigate it alone. I partner with individuals (13+), couples, and families who are ready to examine these patterns, understand their roots, and build a clearer path forward together.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families as they tackle whatever concerns and difficulties they may be facing.
So, you’ve made the choice to look for a therapist, but the options out there are vast and overwhelming. You're hoping to find someone who is relatable and down to earth; someone who is just as human as you are. Hi, my name is Megan, and I’m really glad you’re here.

Many times people find themselves at a place in life where they find it difficult to move towards their goals in life. Goals vary from person to person; but they are important to who we are. A person may notice the same mountain is circled with little to no progress. This can be very frustrating. Obstacles might include past "hang-ups", lack of self trust, or feeling unmotivated or overwhelmed with life's circumstances. There may be times the individual wonders if things will always be a certain way, or they may wonder if there is something they are missing. They desire to move past the obstacles and achieve their goal.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
