I believe that every human being has the potential to live a healthy, satisfying, and abundant life, aligned with his or her values.
Together, we will decide how you want your life to change and how we can create that change. Some of your work will occur during our sessions together; some will occur in the time between sessions. Paying for therapy is often a concern. If needed, I will work with you to allay that concern via a sliding scale for payments that are less than my standard rate.

Years of working with women, families and couples continues to teach me that what is valued most is relationship and a sense of being heard. For most, the therapeutic relationship and discovery of their "voice" is the beginning of transformation. What a gift for me to be part of that process. Working from the framework of Person Centered Therapy, I marvel over my client's determination and abilities to overcome their depression, anxiety, co-dependency, use of substances, and negative self images (that developed as a result of abusive histories and/or unresolved grief). Holistically heart, mind and spirit!

I have experienced divorce, remarriage, and step family issues, thus I understand the emotional impact of these life changes.
I have been an arbitrator and a mediator since 1994 and these skills come in very handy when helping families, divorced couples, and step families find resolution to their conflicts.I can use either an individual or relational perspective and so I assist individuals struggling alone as well as struggling families and stepfamilies.

I believe in meeting every client where they are in life and to focus on strengths and abilities.
Fifteen years of counseling experience, trained in psychotherapy and transactional analysis. People want to understand what drives emotions and behaviors. I use personality testing on each client to help set goals in therapy and understand the “why” behind thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

The essence of therapy is one individual partnering with another individual, couple, or family to find peace in the midst of life's struggles.
Accepting Clients for Waiting List: Is your dream of living happily ever after with your spouse becoming a frustrating nightmare? Does your conflict with your spouse devolve into criticism of each other? Do you feel like you are constantly defending yourself and developing feelings of contempt for your spouse? Has communication almost completely stopped? Have you or your spouse had an affair or been unfaithful by spending time, energy, and financial resources on things that do not represent the commitments you made to each other? If so, I hear you, and I have been there.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
