Perinatal and Postpartum therapy is so important to me and I wish I had had access when I was in my postpartum period. Providing support and a safe place for moms and their partners is one of my main priorities.

Specializing in complex trauma and marriage therapy, I am an Emdria-Certified Approved Consultant, and Gottman-trained. I teach EMDR internationally with the EMDR Institute as a Facilitator. And just as Gottman Method is the only 100% research-based marriage therapy, EMDR is the top choice of the World Health Organization, DOD, and others. Integrating methods such as Ego State Therapy, Action Psychology, TSDP, somatic resourcing, and CBT enables me to treat the complex trauma spectrum. Childhood trauma usually doesn't look like PTSD, and may look like treatment-resistant bipolar II, anxiety, eating disorders, even chronic pain.

At the end of the day, relationships matter & I believe they are at the core of our success. How we interact with one another in every setting & how we treat ourselves is crucial to navigating through life. When we love ourselves, we are able to think positively, create & reach goals, take responsibility, understand things we can & cannot control, treat ourselves with compassion & have confidence. When one of these relationships if lacking or does not exist, we are suseptible to a plethora of mental health & life struggles.

If you’re here, it’s probably because life feels a little heavier than usual — or maybe you’re just looking for a space to breathe, to process, or to feel heard. Either way, I want you to know you’re already doing something brave by showing up. I created Homestead Healing as a space that feels like home — safe, grounded, and full of compassion. A place where you can set everything down and know that what you share stays here, safe in the vault. I believe therapy should be real, human, and heart-centered — not clinical or cold. I meet my clients where they are with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand their world.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
