I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families on a variety of issues, including but not limited to behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, adoption/foster care, trauma, and family stress.
I offer play therapy, both child-centered and more directive activities, as well as psychodynamic and evidence-based approaches (DBT) with older clients. I have several years of experience coaching teachers and educators in social-emotional concepts, and believe it is important to collaborate with schools when working with children and adolescents.

I bring experience in treating anxiety and depression, and my specialty is resolving trauma, whether a PTSD diagnosis or more acute symptoms.
My style of therapy involves a strong focus on providing a safe space to be listened to and to heal. I believe that therapy should, at its core, be a compassionate and uplifting experience; at the same time, it should push us far enough out of our comfort zones that we are empowered to grow.

My experience is that the psychological symptoms we experience in the present are the ways we have tried to protect ourselves from the experience of the early trauma that we went through in childhood, and that by clearing the early trauma, we can release the symptoms in the present.
I am certified as a Transactional Analyst, a Redecision Therapist, a Marital and Family Therapist, a Group Psychotherapist, and an Advanced Integrative Therapist which combines a psychodynamic approach with Energy Psychology. I do individual, group, couple and family therapy.

Whether you’re processing trauma, navigating anxiety, or simply feeling out of sync.
Making the decision to begin therapy can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. I offer EMDR, ACT, and IFS to help adults process the past, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Many of us find ourselves stuck in deep-rooted patterns that may have once been helpful or protective, but no longer serve us. These patterns can make it hard to feel present, connected, or aligned with the life we want to live. Pain and discomfort are part of being human but with the right support, healing is possible.

Whether it is to clarify shifts in identity, to navigate waves of emotional unrest, to compassionately turn towards parts of oneself that have been neglected, to unlock pieces of the mind shut down by trauma, or to accumulate more life skills necessary for tackling seasons of anxiety or depression, I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with you.
Using a narrative-therapy inspired approach, I enjoy seeing the client's life as a story full of chapters characterized by core beliefs, impactful experiences, and reverberating emotions. My goal is to identify the current chapter of life you are in and how you might want to shift and change the current narrative towards greater health and healing.

You might be carrying the weight of systemic oppression, intergenerational trauma, or the pressure to fit into a world that wasn’t built with you in mind.
I also support clients navigating burnout, career uncertainty, and the emotional toll of systemic oppression—especially trans, gender expansive, and femme leaders holding positional power and managing complex racial and gender dynamics. My work is rooted in dignity, resilience, and empowerment, with a focus on practical strategies for growth and self-care.

I work with adults to develop a partnership for exploring ways to live a fuller, more quality filled life. To mindfully awaken is to become conscious in the here and now while integrating all of our experiences before this moment in time. This practice of living courageously, authentically, with non-judgmental awareness, while embracing our worthiness, helps us live a fuller life. Specializing in psychotherapy with adults & couples, my therapeutic approach draws from Somatic Experiencing, Attachment Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, IFS- & DBT-informed therapy, as well as the research of Brené Brown. I am also a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator who works with couples at all stages of their relationship.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
