I moved to North Carolina from the Northwest in 2018 and am considered a true generalist. This means I have over 10,000 hours of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults with the myriad concerns that bring them to therapy (see the specialty list below): however, my areas of expertise are in trauma, anxiety, improving interpersonal relationship dynamics, and performance improvement. I enjoy working with health care professionals, first responders, athletes, teachers, and university professionals and students. I am not currently accepting new patients.

I work well with clients who have previously found therapy to be lacking. While my clients typically find sessions enjoyable, I also push for each person with whom I work to utilize learned skills throughout the week! Life changes require effort but I also understand that it's hard to make significant changes when every moment feels like slogging through molasses. I tend to be more involved as a therapist than some, which is a choice born out of my own life experiences. Sometimes people don't have a fully-developed support system to help support them as they begin to make healthier choices. If that's the case for you, get in touch.

I work with general anxiety & health anxiety, grief & loss, and depression & stress — because it’s difficult to be human. Feeling anxious or depressed? Burned out? Facing difficult life transitions or overwhelmed by cultural adjustment? Struggling in important relationships? You're not alone. In therapy, I can be a sojourner (a traveling companion) to walk through this phase of life with you. Together, we'll work on helping you reconnect with your most authentic self, build confidence, and develop new ways of coping and relating to others. And if you aren't sure what's wrong or what you need, I offer psychological assessment, working as a detective to clarify a diagnosis, find the best treatments, and help you move forward.

Have you ever wondered if other people’s lives were as chaotic as yours? Were other people’s families as stressful as yours? Or, do you ever wonder if you are “just losing your mind?” I understand that life is messy and we, as humans, are messy too. Figuring out how to navigate life is serious business, and social media portrayals of “having the perfect life” do not help us tone down the negative self-talk that tends to jumble our thoughts. Would you like to pause all the static in your mind? Would you like to learn strategies to improve your mood, lessen your stress, and create “a life worth living?”

“And how do you feel about that!?” ---Says every TV comedy-bit depicting therapy. In reality, it can be intimidating to share our true feelings with another person- especially with a (virtual) stranger. In therapy sessions, I therefore create a warm, safe, empathetic, non-judgmental, space to unpack your story. I view you as an expert on yourself and will encourage you to honor your own inner wisdom. I value processing your unique context and how intersectional identities and structures of oppression contribute to your distress. My goal is to illuminate the root causes of your pain and to help guide you towards healing and growth.

Looking for answers? Seeking a solution for you or your loved one? Learning difficulties, focus problems, emotional challenges or feeling as though you or your loved one aren’t living up to potential? Let’s have a conversation to determine whether a psychological assessment or therapy will help you get closer to your goals. While the new school year brings a fresh start and great intentions, it can often be very frustrating when that is not enough to create lasting change. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities, and Psychological Disorders often adversely impact one’s ability to function and thrive. When these challenges are not adequately addressed, it can be disheartening when so much potential is hidden beneath the disorders.
