I believe in the possibilities embedded within crisis for healing, connection, and transformation. And I believe in joy. I work well with people who've been on both sides of trauma; and creative, sensitive, neurodivegent folks who may also be struggling with identity, meaning-making, and mood instability. Perhaps you are navigating the gap between your great insight and the depth of your suffering. I bring creativity, humor, and honesty to the process of bridging this gap while using an affirming, disability justice lens.

With my professional experiences in community based mental health and in college and university counseling, I have focused on helping others with anger management, past and present traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and a variety of other issues.
Sometimes life is hard and you need help coping. Sometimes you get angry and you're not sure why or how to control it. Sometimes bad things happen and you can't get over it the way your friends and family expect you to. Maybe you don't really know what's going on, but you recognize that something isn't right. I want to help you figure out what isn't working in your life and get you to where you want to be.

A healing connection, at its core, is a place of safety and possibility. I believe healing begins when we feel truly seen and accepted, which is why I strive to hold a non-judgmental space where every part of you is welcome. In our work together, I meet clients where they are and walk beside them as they navigate challenges, discover resilience, and connect with their own inner resources. My role is to listen deeply, hold space for your story, and gently empower you to imagine and create new possibilities for yourself and your relationships.

Successful children are happy, socially competent and secure in developing age appropriate skills. They get along with their family, friends, and at school. What all parents want is to successfully launch their children as independent adults. This can be a daunting task in today's world. The time to identify and solve problems in this process is as early as possible. I offer both short-term and long-term interventions for children and the adults in their lives. I also work with adults to help you identify and change stuck patterns of thought and feeling to move ahead in life.

Taking the first step for therapy should not be minimized. We will work together from start to finish, to uncover the best version of yourself. The foundation of my work is client-centered and trauma-focused, which concentrates on establishing trust and respect in order for change to occur. I have experience working with individuals who have endured trauma and as a result struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, and other mental health concerns. I also have a passion for working with individuals from the LGBTQ community and struggle with the unfortunate anxieties of marginalization.

The clients with whom I work are seeking to find, or reclaim, joy or clarity in their lives. They have a sense that there's something more to life than what they're experiencing, but don't believe that medication or conventional talk therapy is the way to get there. Perhaps they want to make some changes in their personal or professional life but feel stuck.

Hi Thanks for taking a look at my profile- Reach out if it seems we might be able to work together in a way that would be helpful to you...I'm working only via telehealth which reduces your commute time. My clients tend to be working on being awake and aware of and attuned to and stressed by the complexity of our culture today. I work with issues of alternative sexuality, gender dysphoria, relationships in all forms including relationships that are kink friendly and/or poly. I come from an eclectic training background but use RLT and IFS more often than other modalities.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
