Whether you are coming to me because you feel like you are drowning while managing your chronic illness or it's navigating life's challenges in pregnancy or motherhood, I'm here to compassionately see you from the convenience of your own home or at our office in Kernersville
Taking care of yourself with a chronic illness is like a full time job. You need a calendar to manage the various appointments of doctors and specialists that you are fitting into the thousand other things you are trying to manage. You are overwhelmed and tired. You didn't sign up for this and want more for yourself. Does this sound like you? You are not alone, many of the clients I work with have felt this way. My clients are resilient, motivated, and persevering but living with their illness has weathered them and along the way they forgot these parts of themselves and need help being reminded.

I believe people should have the space to be authentic and heard. No two people will feel the same way in any given experience. My goal is to work together to ensure understanding and positive changes. We build a space together that allows you to feel safe. We discuss current stressors and how they are impacting your goals. When working with couples and families, I create an environment where everyone has a voice and feels heard, while facilitating change and growth within the unit. We work at finding solutions and strengthening communication skills.

Overwhelmed. It's a word I hear so often from clients- because life is hard sometimes. Finding a therapist who offers compassion and understanding should not be. My goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive space where you feel truly heard and accepted. With over 25 years of experience, I provide care for children, teens, adults and families in a supportive and inclusive space. I'm deeply passionate about the work I do and count it a privilege to walk alongside folks as they navigate the challenges of life. I provide care for depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and other issues related to life transitions.

Prenatal & postpartum challenges are hard but I am here to help.
In a world where there is so much uncertainty and life's challenges seem too much to carry, everyone deserves a space where they can reflect, release, and heal. No need for masks or faking the funk with me. I encourage all of my clients to be their authentic selves and I will do the exact same.

I have training in perinatal mental health to support clients in all stages of parenthood.
Currently accepting new clients. My goal is to support my clients while they identify the changes they want to make and collaborate with them to reach these goals. I believe that developing good rapport with my clients is the key to making progress when discussing potentially painful and difficult topics, so I take the time to get to know each individual while being open, honest, and warm. Using such modalities as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy, I team up with my client to create positive change.

My work focuses on perinatal mental health, trauma recovery, and addiction.
You are overwhelmed. You don't know how to keep up with the demands of life. You wonder, "how'd I get here?" You are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You want to laugh again and enjoy life again. You need a restart, a refocus but don't know where to begin. My clients are compassionate, kind, and motivated to help everyone else in their lives but have lost touch with themselves. They have spent so long saying yes to everyone else the idea of saying no and possibly disappointing others is crippling. You can work on finding yourself again. You don't have to do it alone.

My passion is serving the LatinX community whenever possible. I also enjoy working with new parents who are expecting their first child or just welcomed their first child into their family. This time in life is very tender but can also create anxiety, stress, relationship tension, and bring up one's own childhood wounds as parents step into this new role. Working with couples in relationship distress, especially within the LatinX community, is an area of passion and purpose for me. In addition, I work with older teens and adults on a variety of struggles including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief/loss.

You’ve spent a long time trying to figure out what’s wrong with you. Why food feels so complicated. Why you’re exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t fix. Maybe you’re in a transition — a relationship ending, a career shift, a body that suddenly feels unfamiliar. Maybe perimenopause has you questioning everything. Maybe you’re wondering if you’re neurodivergent — if ADHD or autism explains the masking, the burnout cycles, the feeling of working twice as hard just to appear okay. Maybe all of the above.

You didn't expect life to look this way. Are you paralyzed by anxiety? Overwhelmed with the state of the world and our country? Feeling disconnected from others? Feeling unseen and unheard? Are you struggling to meet the high expectations of yourself and the expectations of what the modern woman is? Have you found yourself thinking; these are supposed to be the happiest days of my life, why am I not happy? Am I a good Mom? Am I being too controlling? Everyone else seems to be able to do it all. Why can't I? Am I making the "right" decisions with my children? Life does not have to stay this way.

A significant part of my work is walking with women and families through grief and loss—whether it’s the heartbreak of perinatal or infant loss, the quiet grief that can come with identity changes, or the deep sorrow of losing someone close
I specialize in supporting women, couples and families through life’s many transitions—from the tender, disorienting months after becoming a mother/parents to the complex changes of perimenopause and menopause. These seasons often bring a mix of emotions: joy and loss, strength and exhaustion, clarity and confusion. My goal is to offer a space where every part of your experience is welcome and held with compassion.

Life moves fast and can feel heavy. Between responsibilities, expectations, and the quiet weight you carry inside, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure where to turn. You don’t have to figure it out alone. Therapy can be a place to pause, breathe, and regain your footing. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, grief, relationship challenges, past experiences, or a season of change, you deserve support and a space to show up just as you are, feeling seen, heard, and valued.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
