I blend various experiential therapies, including IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and coherence therapy.
Are you a high-achieving woman who looks like she has it all together...but inside, you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or never quite “enough”? You’ve built a successful life, yet you’re stuck in cycles of overthinking, comparison, and self-doubt. You find yourself caught in the comparison trap, scrolling on Instagram and wondering why you don’t feel as happy as you “should". You may find it hard to slow down, struggle to ask for help, and feel like no matter what you accomplish, it’s never enough. You’re the one everyone relies on—but you’re exhausted from holding it all together.

I integrate ACT, IFS (IFSI L1), EMDR ( EMDRIA), somatic experiencing, and relational models — blending strong clinical training with a deeply human connection.
The way I practice is really grounded in care - real, human care. I’m a clinical psychologist, but more than that, I’m someone who shows up fully. I take this work seriously, and personally. I work with people who are doing well in many ways, or who’ve already done a lot of work and gained insight, but still feel stuck - or burned out - or like something’s off and they can’t quite put their finger on it. Sometimes it’s been building for years, and sometimes something recent just knocks the wind out of you - loss, affairs, medical stress, relationship conflicts, or life suddenly not making sense the way it used to.

I work with adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship stress, binge eating and emotional eating, self-criticism, or patterns they can’t seem to change. Many appear capable on the outside while privately struggling with overthinking, emotional exhaustion, or feeling disconnected from themselves. People often come to therapy feeling stuck, unsure why they feel the way they do, or tired of carrying everything alone. Together, we create a supportive, nonjudgmental space to better understand these struggles, uncover underlying patterns, and begin moving toward healthier, more balanced ways of coping and living.

My ideal clients are children, adolescents, adults, and families who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, behavioral challenges, grief, relationship difficulties, and emotional overwhelm. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals impacted by childhood trauma, family stress, attachment wounds, postpartum concerns, and difficulties with emotional regulation. Many clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from “holding it together,” struggling silently, or feeling misunderstood in their environments. Parents may seek support for children experiencing behavioral or emotional concerns.

I am a Trauma Specialist trained in EMDR, Hypnotherapy, QHHT, IFS, and Trauma Therapy and specialize in PTSD, ADHD, anxiety and depression with over 15 years of experience assisting clients to a state of well-being, growth, and wholeness.
Latest research has shown that we "stuck" in our core beliefs that have been ingrained in us since childhood. We've all tried to "think" our way out of anxiety or depression and have failed. EMDR bypasses the "thinking" part of the brain and works directly on the "feeling" part to integrate healthy beliefs about one's self and bring about peace.

I'm trained and certified (Level II) in EMDR and DNMS, trauma-based treatments for people whose developmental needs were not met as children.
Although there is no formal "sliding scale", I can sometimes offer hardship discounts to established patients, or those actively engaged in volunteer and/or self-help programs. I do not generally offer free initial sessions or lengthy telephone consults, but I am happy to return messages to discuss your questions about therapy and this practice.

The last few years have been tough. Tougher than we ever thought possible. This has caused chaos, stressful home life, and violence to increase in our communities. If you have been affected recently by these things, I want you to know, you are not alone. You do not need to struggle any longer. Healing begins the moment we feel truly seen and understood.

I integrate EMDR, somatic and parts-based approaches to support healing at both the emotional and nervous system level for lasting change.
Many of my clients have spent years managing anxiety or relationship stress — only to find themselves still stuck in patterns they can't quite explain. What we often discover underneath is trauma they didn't realize was there. Not necessarily one big event, but relational wounds from earlier experiences that kept shaping how they see themselves and connect with others. If you've tried the coping skills and still don't feel like yourself, that's exactly where I do my best work. I work with adults and teens — in person in Asheville and virtually across NC.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and not recognized the face looking at back at you? Has life ever knocked you down so hard that you didn't know how to get back up? When was the last time you genuinely smiled? If you answered yes to any of those questions, I would love to assist you! You see, it’s my belief that we all enter the world as blank slates until this thing called life begins to write our stories for us! Many of our stories have been written with trauma, pain, depression, low self-worth and fear. So much of our vision has been tainted by the past that we no longer dream of the future! Together, we can change that!!!

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
