You are unique and special just like everyone else. This phrase resonates with me. I have had the privilege of experiencing life's good, bad and ugly. When life’s path and rhythm are suddenly thwarted, we may feel powerless, vulnerable, distrustful and out of control. We have little to no idea how to maneuver our life’s steering wheel to get ‘back on track.’ This could lead to worsening or ‘stuck’ conditions reinforcing the negative thoughts and feelings at hand. Like you, all of us experience these waves at several points throughout our lives. My own healing was through insight, guidance and support while engaged in counseling.

Finding the right therapist for you is a primary factor in whether or not your therapy will be successful. I believe in creating a relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere where people feel safe to explore painful feelings and negative thoughts/behaviors. My approach includes a balance of support and challenge. My goal is to bring warmth, humor, and an interactive style to our sessions. I do not believe in "one size fits all," and therefore, I strive to create an experience that is unique to you based on your individual needs and goals for therapy. My work is grounded in current research/education on mental health and well-being.

Sometimes we feel 'stuck.' Sometimes we experience negative emotions which we feel conflict with our values, morals, ideals. Sometimes we feel an emptiness. Like our inner flame...the one which burns inside, pushing us to set & pursue goals, dream, live life with a sense of anticipation...has dimmed, until just an ember. Sometimes our negative life experiences get us caught up in the lies of guilt and shame. Paralyzing us. Keeping us from moving forward. Perhaps it's more than 'just' feelings and emotions. Maybe symptoms of mental illness make life hard. And navigating through life, each day, each moment, feels like tedious work.

I offer mindfulness-based therapy with specializations in men's issues, depression and anxiety management and personal growth. Through this work in therapy, you can be kinder to yourself, which will help you in relating to others. You will notice that you are able to be more present, more intentional, and have more confidence in approaching your goals.

Relationships can be our greatest joys, but when they aren’t working, they can be our greatest struggles. Whether it’s our relationship with our family, our partners, our friends, or ourselves, the pain of disconnection, confusion, hurt, and loneliness can often bring depression, anxiety and anger. And with this comes an experience of feeling alone and disconnected from ourselves and others. Though I practice Cognative Behavioral Therapy, I employ a variety of methods including "talk therapy", EMDR, sand therapy, and play therapy, depending upon individual need.
