I have experience working with individuals, couples, groups, & teenagers in a variety of areas such as self-esteem, goal setting, infidelity , communication, deviant behaviors, anxiety, & depression.
It is very hard to keep it together some days. You may feel you are just trying to stay afloat and make it from one day to the next. Have you ever smiled just to keep yourself from crying? Have you ever found yourself diving into work, school, or other activities to keep yourself busy - to avoid how you are really feeling? If any of the above are happening for you, you are in the right place. This is where I come in.My goal is to help you process these emotions and in more ways that can be applied to all areas of your life beyond the therapy room. Most of the time, what you are dealing with is more than what is right in front of you.

Life can often be difficult causing individuals to feel lonely and overwhelmed. Many of my clients begin therapy because they are struggling with an emotional void and they are wondering how to live their best life. My therapeutic style is warm, non-judgmental, strength based and solution focused. The strong therapeutic relationship I work to cultivate is often the catalyst for my clients to become more self aware, insightful and in control of their life.

Nothing has the ability to stop life and wear you out more than when you are not able to get back on your feet or continue to push past the pain. At some point we all break. Have you pushed so hard and you just can’t get back to the old you? Or maybe the old you is not who you want to envision for your future. As a licensed professional counselor and licensed clinical addictions specialist, I have been a witness to some of life’s most precious moments and also some of life’s most challenging circumstances. My goal and desire is to help others navigate through their world and to find answers to some of life’s most difficult questions

However, at the other end of all of that is an entire garden of peace that you will learn to keep healthy and thriving. We want to help you find this place. This place lives deep inside of you, suffocating under trauma, depression, anxiety, and distressing thoughts. Let's take this step together! All it takes is one phone call. Our Peace Matters!

"To get thru the hardest journey, we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping" As your counselor my aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where we can collaborate and work together at your own pace to help you reach your goals. Sometimes our past hurts and thoughts come with us like a friend we've told to "get lost", however everywhere we look it's there. If the past continues to be in your present I can help. If you have difficulty expressing your thoughts and emotions, I can help. If you're stuck, I can help. All it takes is one phone call.

At Sanctuary Counseling Group, we believe in creating therapeutic relationships with our clients that promote the healing of heart, mind, and soul. What is most important to me is that those who come to me for treatment can feel safe, build trust to be who they are, and can focus on making themselves, their relationships, their marriage and family life better. It is always important to me to simply meet and accept people where they are and to partner with them on a journey to where they hope to be. Those who come for treatment deserve to feel understood, respected, and cared for along the way.

As a Certified EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) Couples Therapist and Supervisor, I love helping couples find or restore the loving closeness they long for. EFT is recognized as one of the most successful approaches to couple therapy. I will help you identify negative patterns of interaction and explore feelings that perpetuate it so that you can step out of the pattern and create new ways of interacting that promote and deepen empathy, closeness, and intimacy. My clinical experience includes helping individuals successfully grow through challenges such as depression, anxiety, healing from trauma and abuse, and coping with loss.

People come to counseling because they want to change their personal or family situation, solve a particular problem, or simply bring a healthier balance to their lives. My role as your counselor is to support, encourage and assist you in doing the necessary work to discover, understand, heal and move forward. I use particular concepts and techniques selected from a broad range of therapies. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused, Behavior Therapy, Talk Therapy, and Mindfulness. I integrate these and other therapies with Biblical principles and a Christian worldview.

If you’re here, congrats. Chances are you realize something needs to change. Often times people come to therapy after they’ve already exhausted every resource and option they know. It’s a huge step to ask for help and an even bigger step to show up and take it.

I look forward to assisting you with developing the skills to live a more abundant life while implementing the tools that you already have! Life can be hard at times and with the right coping skills, life can be more manageable to those experiencing depression, grief, anxiety, substance use, and other mental health issues. Working with those who have experienced relationship issues, such as infidelity , abuse (domestic, verbal and/ or physical) can learn how to become a survivor instead of a victim. I know that building a healthy therapeutic relationship is the first step in the therapy process in a non-judgmental environment.

Anxiety, Relationships, Life Direction, Depression, Quarter-Life Crisis/Young Adults, Sexual Issues, Social Anxiety, Accountability, Life Coaching, Assertiveness, Career, Masculinity/Men's Identity, Anger, Spirituality, Infidelity , and Porn/Sexual/Gaming Addictions are concerns often addressed. I've had a longtime focus on male psychology, using clinical insight, practical strategies, and supportive presence. Some issues look different in males and can go unrecognized. Sometimes men are more comfortable talking with another guy.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
