If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense anymore, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with carry layered experiences shaped by family, culture, and past stressors. This may show up as pressure to hold everything together, unspoken expectations, lingering effects of trauma, or a sense that something feels “off” but hard to explain. You may be seeking understanding, healing, and support as you work toward becoming more grounded, whole, and aligned with who you want to be.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Let’s be real, life can get messy. Sometimes it feels like you’re juggling a hundred things and still dropping a few. That’s where I come in, to help you slow down, breathe, and find your footing again. What drew me to counseling is simple: I genuinely care about helping people feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. Everyone has their own story, and I’m passionate about creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

I utilize dialectical behavior therapy ( DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to work with individuals who have a history of trauma that has led them to experience difficulty being present in the moment, managing stressful situations, regulating emotions, and communicating effectively.
I work with individuals to improve their ability to be mindful, tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and interact with others successfully in a way that does not inhibit their self-respect. I also assist individuals with processing past trauma and installing adaptive beliefs to replace the negative core beliefs that have developed as a result of trauma.

If you're feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed by everything you’ve been carrying, you don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy can give you a space to exhale, untangle what’s going on, and figure out a path forward that feels doable - not perfect. I work with clients from age 10 through adulthood, helping people manage anxiety, depression, and big life transitions (like school, relationships, work, identity changes, etc). Whether you’re stuck in survival mode or just feeling off, we’ll work together to build tools that make life feel more manageable.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
