I am passionate about EMDR therapy to assist clients who are dealing with trauma.
I work with a variety of mental health issues, but I feel trauma can be a root cause of many issues that clients face. Working on the trauma can help alleviate many symptoms that clients suffer from. I feel that trauma is subjective to the individual and can’t be defined by a one size fits all definition.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate, Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, & EMDR trained therapist. I specialize in treatment of complex trauma & pregnancy loss. These credentials qualify me to be a therapist but what do they mean? Some say the letters after someone’s name have become like alphabet soup. No one knows what they mean & no one really cares. So here’s a little about my counseling philosophy. My primary framework is attachment focused. I believe humans are designed to enjoy connection with others. From before birth our bodies & brains are already making connections to significant people in our lives.

As a trauma focused therapist, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR ) therapy to help clients recover from trauma and other life distressing experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic disorders, culture-specific trauma, and racial fatigue.
I utilize a systemic approach to address mental health concerns. What does that mean? We all have experiences that shape our worldview (how we see things, how we navigate life, our beliefs, our values, etc). I love helping clients to make connections that help them to lead richer, fuller lives. As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I provide premarital and couples counseling, working with couples to navigate challenges and difficulties. I have a passion for working with young adults, women and families impacted by divorce/separation, and individuals navigating the challenges of single parenting, dating and relationships.

I am certified in EMDR and utilize other modalities such as IFS to stay in-sync with my client's needs.
Please EMAIL me only! My goal in counseling is to provide a safe and empathetic space to share, process and grow. As a Christian counselor I integrate psychology and theology in the therapy session as I come alongside my client(s) in reaching their goals. Whether it is trauma-related experiences, relationship hurts, seasons of change or perhaps feeling stuck, I understand sharing your story takes strength and vulnerability which can be hard at times. I believe diligent work at a gentle pace and acceptance of self is powerful and life-changing.

SAFE EMDR adult and child trained.
The earlier we instill positive ways to manage our lives the better. Early intervention breaks negative family patterns. Children and teens who have had difficulties in school, traumas, bullying, oppositional defiance, and adjustments such as divorce or a move can find ways to manage and build on their strengths. Clients such as children through teens with anxiety, or depression, can likewise find coping skills tailored for them to lead happy healthy lives. Children can engage in play therapy and sand tray therapy, and teens in art therapy or talk therapy. Caregivers can utilize CPRT. Trauma clients can benefit from EMDR therapy.

I utilize different techniques to help my clients, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing ( EMDR ), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, biofeedback, and more.
We often feel lost, stuck, and helpless when we struggle to find solutions to our everyday problems. At this point, our problems can become obstacles blocking us from living the best days of our lives. However, psychotherapy can help us overcome these obstacles by teaching us how to cope better with our emotions and thoughts, gain insight into our problems, make desirable changes, communicate effectively, find possible solutions, and stop engaging in self-sabotaging behaviors that may contribute to our problems.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
