My passion is serving the LatinX community whenever possible. I also enjoy working with new parents who are expecting their first child or just welcomed their first child into their family. This time in life is very tender but can also create anxiety, stress, relationship tension, and bring up one's own childhood wounds as parents step into this new role. Working with couples in relationship distress, especially within the LatinX community, is an area of passion and purpose for me. In addition, I work with older teens and adults on a variety of struggles including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief/loss.

Do you constantly feel “on edge,” overwhelmed, or emotionally drained? Maybe anxiety and self-doubt are making it hard to trust yourself, speak up for your needs, or feel confident in your relationships. Life transitions, stress, and emotional struggles can feel isolating—but you don’t have to carry them by yourself.
I work with children, teens, and adults who want to better understand themselves, improve communication and boundaries, and feel more confident navigating everyday life. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel genuinely heard and understood while learning practical tools that create lasting change.

My work focuses on perinatal mental health, trauma recovery, and addiction.
You are overwhelmed. You don't know how to keep up with the demands of life. You wonder, "how'd I get here?" You are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You want to laugh again and enjoy life again. You need a restart, a refocus but don't know where to begin. My clients are compassionate, kind, and motivated to help everyone else in their lives but have lost touch with themselves. They have spent so long saying yes to everyone else the idea of saying no and possibly disappointing others is crippling. You can work on finding yourself again. You don't have to do it alone.

One of the biggest obstacles to personal, emotional, mental and social well-being is holding on to the past. Letting go of the past can empower you to obtain happiness, and contentment in all walks of life. It is very important, yet difficult, to be in the present. Letting go and starting anew will increase your sense of resilience and help you tackle concerns confidentially and bravely without feeling helpless, unduly stressed or overwhelmed. Confidence paired with realistic goals and plans can lead to peace versus anxiety and fear. Properly managed stress can positively affect your physical, mental, and emotional health.

Therapy is pointless. If I could feel or act differently, I would.
Have you ever felt this way?
As a young adult, I sought out different therapists as I transitioned through different stages of adulthood. Often I would walk away frustrated because I felt many of those therapists only managed the surface of my problems. When I became a therapist I devoted myself to becoming one that would actually be helpful for my clients. As your therapist, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

One of my favorite quotes that really applies to therapy-seekers is this: "Every flight begins with a fall." You may feel alone, afraid, or ashamed, but you also have a bit of hope that talking with someone new about it might help. If some of your concerns are related to your sexuality or your relationships, and you don't know where to turn for nonjudgmental expertise, you're in the right place. I will walk us down the path to figuring out how to get your goals to mesh with your day-to-day reality in a way that will flow more smoothly than what you've been slogging through. It won't always be comfortable work, but you've got this.

You didn't expect life to look this way. Are you paralyzed by anxiety? Overwhelmed with the state of the world and our country? Feeling disconnected from others? Feeling unseen and unheard? Are you struggling to meet the high expectations of yourself and the expectations of what the modern woman is? Have you found yourself thinking; these are supposed to be the happiest days of my life, why am I not happy? Am I a good Mom? Am I being too controlling? Everyone else seems to be able to do it all. Why can't I? Am I making the "right" decisions with my children? Life does not have to stay this way.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.
When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.
How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
