Accepting Clients! I'm Amber. My goal is to help you get as many aspects of your life as possible into good standing. We’ll figure out your stuck points & hurts, where they are coloring your world, & how we can change your internal narrative. I like to incorporate yogic embodiment practices, to provide a deep, transformational healing experience; breath work, visualization, mindfulness, meditation, body movement, mantras, & affirmations. By holding space for your emotions & allowing them to be experienced in an embodied way, the ‘energy in motion’ is released, creating ease & an awareness of new thoughts, feelings & pathways forward

“Fake it til you make it” is a saying that many of us are familiar with and a motto that many of us unknowingly live by. Behind every smile is a story of a personal struggle. Have you ever wondered how your life would look if you didn’t have to fake happiness, joy, or contentment? What if you had the tools needed to not only survive but truly enjoy living?

My approach to therapy is to assist individuals in accomplishing their goals in this journey we call life. I feel our expectations of others, ourselves and our environment create more stress than we often realize. The good news is we can tame those expectations in order to live a more purposeful life, less driven by stress and greatly assisted by the skills acquired in therapy.

I utilize a CBT solution focused approach when working with clients. I truly believe everyone can reach their goals, yet they have to overcome the hurdles of fear and change. Therapy is a great tool that you have to utilize consistently and work through your “things” outside the four walls of therapy; I call therapy in motion. Remember Change isn’t CHANGE until YOU Change.

Need help figuring out why your relationship just keeps doing the same thing over and over? Do you feel like no one is actually hearing what you? Is it hard to get past something that happened a while back? We often keep repeating things because we think if we just do it again or do differently we'll finally unlock the barrier that's held us back. My people come to see me after trying something over and over and they feel defeated. Often, the secret is a small tweak from a slightly different angle that helps with trauma, anxiety, depression, communication, and/or relationships.

Hi, and welcome. For over 24 years I've had the privilege of witnessing people gain peace, and improve functioning through the therapeutic process. We've all suffered and spent our lives searching for peace. Peace is often found in those places we've been avoiding or unable to access on our own. Life does have a compass; it's within you, buried under all the programming, conditioning, and trauma. It takes courage, and a willingness to feel uncomfortable while looking at what's driving the suffering. The great news: You can significantly decrease the suffering in your life if you're willing to look directly at it using certain tools.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
