I often work with clients who are carrying the weight of childhood trauma, past experiences, feeling overwhelmed, or just not like themselves.
Specializing in anxiety, trauma, and parenting, I integrate EMDR, trauma-informed and somatic-based approaches along with CBT. I help clients process and release stuck or distressing experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming, while exploring how past experiences shape present emotions and building tools to navigate thoughts and relationships.

It’s no secret that life can be messy and I believe that you can either learn from it, laugh about it, or cry about it– all of which are appropriate responses depending on the situation. I find importance in connecting behavioral and cognitive patterns to past experiences, and learning how to move forward and create the future you envision. I don’t shy away from the hard or messy, so you may find that I too show up authentically to assist with verbalizing and exploring the intensity of the human experience.

Stress, depression, anxiety and trauma, are a part of everyday life, yet most of us avoid our feelings and negate the vast emotions that surface.

Your story is important. We all give meaning to our own experiences, and sometimes our attempts to "make sense of it all" leave us feeling hopeless, inadequate, confused, lost, or angry. The "reasons" we act or feel the way we do are not always clear, and it can take a little digging to get to the root of things. The negative thoughts and feelings that exist within us can become draining and exhausting when we don't know what to do with them. Sometimes, because of the way we feel about ourselves, we struggle to feel secure in our own identity. As a therapist, I am interested in your story - as you see it through your own lens.

Strength is not defined by your ability to power through your situation alone, rather it is in the willingness to pursue help with healing. In my work as a counselor, I seek to get to know my clients as a whole person, not just a sum of their circumstances. I believe that we all have value and a purpose, with all of our experiences being a part of that purpose. It can be difficult to seek counseling, showing up and being vulnerable. It is my goal to provide my clients with a safe and secure environment where they feel understood and respected. Your story matters!

Are you feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in a cycle of anxiety and overthinking? Maybe you or your child is struggling with ADHD, OCD, perfectionism, or emotional outbursts. Maybe you look like you have everything together on the outside, but inside you feel exhausted, behind, or like an imposter. When life starts to feel this heavy, it can be hard to know where to turn. Most of the clients I see are high-achieving, thoughtful individuals who put a lot of pressure on themselves but never feel like they’re doing enough. They feel stuck. High expectations and pressure can cause us to “flip the switch” and shut down.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
