I believe all parts of you hold wisdom. I am here to help you discover the resources you have within and around you, so that you may better move toward the life you want. This may look like learning to hear the wisdom and underlying needs that are communicated by your anxiety or body tensions. Or it may look like acknowledging, grieving, and moving past trauma responses that once served you but are now keeping you stuck. Maybe you seek more connectedness with yourself, your relationships, your work, your sense of purpose, or your spirituality.

I take a play-based approach with children, recognizing that play is a child’s natural form of communication.
Through play, children are able to express emotions, process experiences, and make sense of their world in ways that words alone often cannot. Play therapy provides a safe and developmentally appropriate space for healing, emotional growth, and skill-building. I currently attend Capella University, am working on a graduate certificate in play therapy, and am under the supervision of both a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor/ LCMHCS and a LCSW. I am also trained in sand tray with the Oaklander Model.

Our lives are filled with joys, accomplishments, struggles, and sorrows. From many we derive happiness, but others leave us feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or stuck and in need of clarity or a different direction.I understand that seeking counseling can sometimes be difficult or scary and believe that asking for help is a great expression of strength. My goal is to create a comfortable environment in which you may share your story and my approach is collaborative; working with you to identify your needs, the issues you want to address, and the goals that you want to achieve while in therapy.

Symptoms often develop as adaptive responses to difficult events and emotions, particularly for individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, loss, or grief. What once served as a way to cope can eventually become the source of distress that brings clients to therapy. Understanding symptoms as meaningful responses helps reduce shame and supports compassionate self-awareness.

Overthinking, people-pleasing, and difficulty setting boundaries can leave you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. Over time, it’s easy to internalize messages about who you “should” be, how you’re “supposed” to think and behave, and even how you “should” look. Together, we will work to deepen your understanding of yourself, develop healthier, value-aligned ways of thinking, strengthen boundaries, and build tools that support a more authentic life.
