I specialize in trauma, grief, and have additional training in LGBTQIA communities.
At my office, I hope to ensure that all feel welcome. I want my clients to know that I hear you and I see you; your pain matters. Brutality at the hands of others is hard to process, but I hope we can go on that journey together. I specialize in trauma recovery, but also treat a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and more severe disorders. I work with my client to find what therapy methods work best for her/him/them, as we are all different individuals with different needs. Methods I tend to use the most is Humanistic and EMDR.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” -Maya Angelou. We often live our lives holding on to our stories deep inside without someone to bear witness to our suffering. As humans, we oftentimes want nothing more than to be seen for who we truly are and validated for what we have endured in this lifetime. My therapeutic approach is guided by principles of trauma informed care, compassion, and cultural humility to offer a safe space to show up as you are.

I work with teens and adults who feel stuck in recurring emotional or relational patterns and want to understand themselves on a deeper level. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity, disordered eating, sex and sexuality, or a general sense that you're not living as fully or authentically as you'd like. Many of my clients are curious about how their past experiences continue to shape their present and are seeking more than symptom relief, they're looking for lasting, meaningful change.

I work with a diverse range of folks inside and outside the queer and trans community, as well as folks navigating life transitions, intergenerational wounds, substance abuse/misuse, and religious trauma.
I see you. You're thoughtful, anxious, highly-sensitive, tender-hearted, (and maybe a little weird). You are learning to navigate anxiety, identity, trauma, and the tangled gravity of family, culture, or religion. I know the weight and exhaustion of holding your breath when a door slams, the way your body tenses at the sound of your name being spoken in the wrong tone, bracing for impact, and pretending you’re okay when inside you’re barely making it through the day. I am here to support you and meet you where you are. You are made of stardust and story, and everything you need to begin healing already lives within you.

Hi, I’m Becky (she/her). I work with people navigating trauma, grief, depression, substance use, and major life transitions, especially those feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted by what they are carrying. Grounded in a feminist, multicultural lens, I view distress as a response to lived experiences and systems, not personal failure. I integrate IFS, EMDR, CBT and more to help clients understand their inner world, process trauma, and shift unhelpful patterns. Many of my clients are also exploring questions of identity, relationships, spirituality, or recovery, and they're looking for a space where they can show up authentically.

I am a queer, bi-cultural, large bodied, first generation late college graduate with ADHD and a lot of experience overcoming obstacles.
Somewhere along the way you started feeling like a zombie. You are physically and emotionally exhausted. You're feeling burned out, overwhelmed, disconnected and on edge. Hopelessness is sinking in or has already sunken in. You're calling out to work or skipping classes. You are terrified that you can't handle life's demands or the needs of those who count on you. Your family and relationships are suffering. The words "self-care" elicits both a laugh and a sinking feeling in your stomach, but also, you know that at some point something has to give. You are tired of feeling guilty for having your own needs. It is time.

I work with adults who find themselves in seasons of transition—whether that's a change in identity, relationships, career, family, health, or purpose. These moments can leave you questioning who you are, where you're headed, or how to move forward. I believe transitions aren't about losing yourself; they're opportunities to discover more of who you've always been. Together, we'll create a supportive space to better understand your experiences, strengthen your emotional resilience, and take intentional steps toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are becoming.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
