I use mindfulness , cognitive and body-based, existential, person-centered and narrative approaches, and I will emphasize self-compassion and the use of spiritual resources when these are important to clients.
My life's passion is working with women in transitional times of their lives and all young adults and middle-aged adults as they move into new life stages or search for a fulfilling career. I greatly enjoy working with LGTBQIA+ clients and with the Latino and immigrant community, and I am also passionate about working with couples, helping partners improve communication and gain insight into how our pasts affect current relationships. I have a special interest in helping people with relationship issues as well as issues related to break-up and divorce, and I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and parents.

I am grounded in a strengths-based approach, but incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness , and mediation to address issues surrounding family conflict, parent-child relationships, anxiety, substance use, co-occurring disorders, behavioral issues, anger, and everyday stressors.
Change can be difficult. Therapy provides support as you adapt to life's countless changes and curveballs. As a clinical social worker, I have spent time working alongside teens, young adults, and adults as they work through issues varying from hospitalization to exploring substance use and its effects on daily life, behavioral issues, and family conflict. I draw extensively from Maslow's hierarchy of needs and help clients explore their immediate basic needs and safety while addressing love and belonging, self-esteem, and spiritual aspects of daily life.

People often think psychotherapy is only for crises. However research shows that therapy is one of the best investments you can make for life satisfaction and growth. In addition to therapy are other modalities that support healing and growth. Some of these holistic wellness tools include exercise, mindfulness , tai chi and yoga. I have a rich background in the application of mindfulness to promote healing and growth, and have experience integrating tools such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, CBT, Hypnosis and EMDR. I also find authenticity and humor essential for healing and use both liberally.

My theoretical approaches are evidenced-based and include: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
I like to create a welcoming environment to promote healing and allow clients to process the issues that brought them to therapy. Life can be overwhelming or frustrating as we navigate the changes and challenges that come along. Therapy is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our internal experiences, our relationships with others and how we see ourselves in the world. Letting go of past events that still effect us can allow us the freedom to be more present to explore our values and live a rich, rewarding life. The client/therapist Relationship will be the foundation for the work that we do together.

I have a long-standing interest in the mind-body connection and have taught meditation, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness for years.
Life can be wonderful, but it can also be messy and difficult at times. I work with people who face a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and life changes. I believe that every person is unique, and I bring respect for that uniqueness into the therapeutic relationship. I am continually fascinated at the complexity, creativity, and resiliency of people. It is my hope that my clients feel genuinely valued and gain further understanding of themselves and their behaviors through the collaborative exploratory work we do together. Then a new way of living becomes possible.

My style draws primarily from existentialism, CBT & DBT, narrative, positive, and relational psychology, harm reduction, and mindfulness .
Life is a funny thing. And often terribly complicated. During our journey in this world, we often face challenges that can feel too big or ongoing. Whether it’s with chronic feelings of anxiousness, depression, emptiness, issues about sexual orientation, gender, or ethnicity, relationship conflict, sleep disturbances, substance misuse, school or work issues, or any combination of those, many of us struggle silently. But you don't have to. It can help to work with a therapist with a deep understanding of what it’s like with some of those struggles and who is passionate about helping others learn to thrive despite these adversities.

With EMDR, mindfulness , gratitude, healthy boundaries, effective communication, and connection to nature, you can reclaim your life powerfully.
I believe that we live in challenging times. Many people find it difficult to feel confident and self assured, have peaceful, fulfilling relationships, navigate the demands of finances, family, work and home, and also focus on nourishing self care. These challenges are interconnected. They are related to how we have developed our sense of self in the context of family expectations and experiences, societal demands, cultural assumptions, and media influence. It is necessary for all of us to learn how to live our best lives in these particular circumstances. You are not alone.

I offer Body-Centered Therapy in the form of guided mindfulness -based meditation, EMDR and body sensing.
This life can be very challenging and bewildering. I offer supportive and inquisitive presence as we work together to resource your nervous system, deepen self-attunement, and cultivate resilience during times of stress, grief, life transitions, relationship changes and spiritual explorations. I believe our body is highly intelligent and can help us tune into the wholeness of our inner being when we practice listening, attuning, tracking, and responding to the messages of our body.

I do not believe in a cookie-cutter approach but use techniques such as EMDR, Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness , Emotional Freedom Technique, Positive Psychotherapy, ACT, and Brainspotting.
Currently accepting new clients for remote sessions only "What's past is prologue" PROLOGUE, which means your past is not the whole story! You are the author of your future. You can grow, learn, and heal. You can "dwell in possibility." I believe that you possess the raw materials for growth, I believe you possess strengths and skills to heal, and I believe you have a unique story to tell and a right to be heard. I will strive to provide a safe and sacred space for you to share your story. I believe that mutual respect and trust between counselor and client makes all the difference.

I combine practices from: Motivational Interviewing; Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy; Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Moral Reconation Therapy with my knowledge of Mindfulness ; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy into one person-centered approach.
Perhaps right now you feel empty, dissapointed in yourself, detached or just plain sad. Maybe it is that you have made some bad decisions that brought you down a path you never imagined for yourself. Maybe your mood feels out of control, you can not stop crying or perhaps its the opposite and you are feeling on top of the world and you don not know why. I have been there and I want to use my experiences to help. Because I approach client goals with a team mentality you will be in the drivers seat from day one.

I practice mindfulness , I study research on wellness and the brain, and I play blues-jazz guitar.
I am still only seeing clients via tele-health. In a free first session we will discuss working together on-line. I use a combination of IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR. IFS is an extraordinary therapy. In safe, gentle, respectful ways, IFS accesses and TRANSFORMS that which is the cause of your problems: your hidden and not-so-hidden fears, shame, anger, hurt… why you have negative thinking (I’m not good enough, things are not the way I want them to be), as well as the negative ways you may be acting (in anger, critical, impatient, abusing substances). I use a special on-line platform for EMDR which I am finding works well.

I use a combination of CBT , mindfulness practices, trauma resolution tools (EMDR, IFS), somatic tools, relapse prevention skills and more to open my clients to their natural drive and movement toward healing, growth and change.
Are you living with depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, lack of direction, trauma? I believe that we naturally feel a call to live meaningful, loving lives and know intuitively that this is our best path but we often will feel stuck, unsure, fearful and so take no action. Existential therapy calls this a restricted existence and believes the goal of all therapy is to remove the road blocks that are limiting you from moving toward living your best life.

I utilize a mindfulness centered, somatic approach in therapy to help integrate the body, heart, and mind.
There are times in life when things can feel incredibly hard. Lingering sadness and anxiety can threaten to overwhelm us. Maybe it has been a long time since you remember feeling happy. Trauma and early adversity can take root in our bodies and impact every area of our life. We may also be relying on unhealthy behaviors to cope with our deep unease. If you find yourself feeling stuck in old patterns and are wanting to reclaim more happiness in your life, then therapy can help you find the change you are seeking. My intention is to create a safe, compassionate space to support your journey toward living your best life.

As a seasoned therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience, my work is grounded in psychodynamic theory, and incorporates cognitive-behavioral techniques, positive psychology, mindfulness training, and family systems.
My therapy approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. In an open and caring environment, an individual's ability to change self-defeating patterns of thoughts and behaviors, increase self-esteem, recognize strengths, and develop healthy relationships is enhanced.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
For clients with chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other health issues such as anxiety and depression, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, or MBCT, is a two-part therapy that aims to reduce stress, manage pain, and embrace the freedom to respond to situations by choice. MCBT blends two disciplines--cognitive therapy and mindfulness. Mindfulness helps by reflecting on moments and thoughts without passing judgment. MBCT clients pay close attention to their feelings to reach an objective mindset, thus viewing and combating life's unpleasant occurrences.
