I work best with an individual client, couple, or the family of a child or adolescent that recognizes that what they have been trying to do to deal with their life or behavioral issues is not working well, and they are now open to finding understanding, and trying new approaches to old, or recently acute problems. My experience has been that most couples really want to save their marriage or other family relationships and will do the work necessary to build a new and loving relationship.

Seeking help is courageous and potentially life changing.
As an LCMHC, I treat clients with symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance use, grief/loss and trauma. My interventions with adult clients include boundary setting, healing childhood or adult trauma, and exploring new ways of thinking. Treatment modalities also include developing coping skills for managing stress and anxiety, reshaping negative thought patterns, and gaining insight into sources of behavior and feelings. One of my clients asked me "so what do you think?" I replied, " about what?" This is what we need to ask ourselves first during our current situation, "What are we worried about!" Are we worried about our health, our income, our family, our community or our ability to control our lives? The reality is that as human beings we don't have as much control of our lives as we assume. What we have is adaptability, daily habits and foreseeable future. We become fearful and anxious when any of these options are taken away. So give me a call- 704-259-0183 or email me at brow4615@bellsouth.net. Let's talk!!! We can figure this out together.

As humans, we all face challenges that can become overwhelming. Maybe you want to learn how to better manage the challenges in your life. You want to feel empowered and purposeful, instead of feeling like your problems are the one in charge. Or perhaps you are seeking services for your child, who is struggling and could use some extra support. In my practice I collaborate with adults, teens, and kids on reaching their goals for greater wellness. Together we can address concerns such as anxiety, stress management, depression, life transitions, perfectionism & self-criticism, grief, or career & school issues.

If you've kept reading this far, we may be a good match to work with one another! The biggest key to therapy is finding someone that you feel you can be authentic with, so give me a call to see if we're a good fit to do some work together! No matter what, I hope you're able to reach those goals and generate joy and fulfillment in your life! .
Welcome! If you're reading this message, you're probably ready to make some life changes or find a place to be understood. You are? Keep reading. My hope is that if you're feeling disappointed, overwhelmed or just want to work towards your goals and refocus, we address that together. Therapy can seem overwhelming, but I believe that everyone should have a non-biased person to work out their challenges with that can't and won't talk to anyone else in their circle about those challenges. Imagine how much easier things would be if everyone had a therapist!

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
