Welcome – You're Not Alone in This Journey. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if things have felt overwhelming or heavy for a while. Just being here and considering support is a meaningful act of self-care. Therapy is a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. Together, we can explore what’s been weighing on you, make sense of your experiences, and find ways to move forward that feel manageable and realistic. We’ll focus on your strengths while also building practical tools to help you cope and feel more grounded. You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to support you.

I’m Sabrina, and I believe that the space between a counselor and a client is sacred. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, I view it as a true privilege to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s shifts and seek a deeper understanding of yourself. My approach is rooted in the idea that our past experiences shape us, but they don’t have to define our future. I work with individuals (21+) and couples to create a space that feels safe, empowering, and—most importantly—real. Together, we’ll use a variety of tools tailored to your unique story, helping you process current struggles and move towards wellbeing.

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck? Do you strive for breakthrough but somehow seem to always fall short? Do you want to finally achieve progress and reach your goals? I can help by utilizing psychological tools to push past these barriers and into a more fulfilled life. As a Christian therapist we can utilize both psychological tools and Christian principles to help achieve breakthrough. Too often Christians practice solely from a spiritual perspective and neglect the psychological or worse, deny it exists. I believe both spiritual and psychological can work together.

In my practice, I use modalities such as EMDR, CBT, and DBT.
Work and life demands seem relentless. Relationships with your family and friends are strained. You’re so busy taking care of everyone else your own self-care didn’t even make the 'to-do list'. You’re exhausted all the time but somehow can’t seem to let go of control. Perhaps you were in therapy before but it wasn’t the right time. You need someone who can help you uncover deeper parts of yourself but starting therapy seems overwhelming and hard. You’ve thought before: ‘doesn’t everyone have anxiety and depression?!’ Does this sound like you?

In addition to being trained in the modalities noted below, I've completed specialty training in Motivational Interviewing, DBT-Informed Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Neurodivergent Care.
You are not without imprints and influence. And yet, here you are, at the edge of (or moving deeper into) adulthood, trying to establish your own identity, pursue your individual goals, and turn toward your personal values. All the while, by the way, maintaining prior connectedness and finding new spaces of belonging. This is truly a time of transition and trial. It’s little wonder you can’t turn off your mind to sleep, and wake with a sense of dread - and that you find discerning what is from what is not within your control comes about as easy as knowing when to surrender perfection to “good enough.” I’m ready to help.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
