A significant part of my work is walking with women and families through grief and loss—whether it’s the heartbreak of perinatal or infant loss, the quiet grief that can come with identity changes, or the deep sorrow of losing someone close
I specialize in supporting women, couples and families through life’s many transitions—from the tender, disorienting months after becoming a mother/parents to the complex changes of perimenopause and menopause. These seasons often bring a mix of emotions: joy and loss, strength and exhaustion, clarity and confusion. My goal is to offer a space where every part of your experience is welcome and held with compassion.

Too often, we find ourselves without a safe space to voice our fears, worries, or struggles. But everyone deserves a place to speak freely and be heard. What we sometimes need most is a fresh perspective—a shift in how we view our challenges. If you’re seeking to explore new ways of thinking, redefine limiting beliefs, or find clarity in the face of uncertainty, Revolutionary Thinking is here to guide you. Together, we’ll embark on a journey to uncover new perspectives.

The goal, particularly for families who are in the prenatal/postnatal stages of childbirth is to help rediscover who they are, understanding new roles and build self confidence.
Have you been avoiding fights with those close to you? Families adapting to their new lifestyle after having a kid(s), getting married, starting new relationships or even divorce, along with handling other life changes can be overwhelming. Do you feel like you're struggling to express yourself or trying not to blow up? Struggling to reconnect with yourself and each other, can be very painful, and it’s common for many couples, especially in the first few years. Unfortunately, many people learn to avoid all conflicts in relationships. This can lead to resentment, which can cause more recurrent arguments and lead to long-term problems.

One of the biggest obstacles to personal, emotional, mental and social well-being is holding on to the past. Letting go of the past can empower you to obtain happiness, and contentment in all walks of life. It is very important, yet difficult, to be in the present. Letting go and starting anew will increase your sense of resilience and help you tackle concerns confidentially and bravely without feeling helpless, unduly stressed or overwhelmed. Confidence paired with realistic goals and plans can lead to peace versus anxiety and fear. Properly managed stress can positively affect your physical, mental, and emotional health.

There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from feeling like merely existing has been harder for you than it seems it should be. It's possible that on the outside, you're managing fine. But you’ve spent years pushing through, adapting, or blaming yourself for struggling with things that seem to come easily to others. If you've always felt a bit different or identify as ADHD and/or Autistic, finding the right support can help soften the edges of a life that hasn't always been comfortable. You might feel overwhelmed, or perpetually behind, with a sense of being different always simmering under the surface.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
