I have experience working with grief , trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, behavioral challenges, self-love, self-esteem and domestic violence victims.
You may not control what's happening, but you can control how you heal from it. Everything that was meant to destroy you have built you. A strong foundation is key. How we allow life experiences to build us is up to us. It's time to grow. It's time to uproot every negative thing spoken or believed. Allow yourself to weed out the garden and plant a beautiful, healthy lifestyle that allows you to blossom. I believe that we are called to have a life full of abundance, peace, and joy!

The clients I serve find themselves being negatively impacted by unfortunate experiences in their lives. The three most prevalent commonalities are anxiety, stress, and prolonged feelings of sadness or depression. These symptoms can be accompanied by experiences of loss ; loss of appetite, money, function, energy, employment, relationships, and oftentimes pleasure. This psychological distress can be rooted in fear, guilt, loneliness, disappointment, anger, resentment, and simple dissatisfaction.

My areas of clinical focus are, mainly veterans, first responders, trauma, substance use, grief / loss , spiritual, and existential issues.
I entered the counseling profession to support individuals that are having difficulties facing life’s challenges. I have found that many people struggle not because they are not capable of overcoming them, but because they do not have the support and/or encouragement they need. I believe that as humanity becomes “busier”, life becomes more complicated affecting relationships and how we see ourselves fitting in the world. Life is often full of difficult and complicated experiences that are difficult to overcome, especially without support. Ultimately, these difficulties distract us from pursuing what enriches our lives.

I help empower women who have experienced toxic relationships, a loss , or going through difficult life challenges.
Are you experiencing a toxic and unhealthy relationship? Or perhaps you have reached a point in your life where you recognize you have given so much of yourself away that you are not sure who you are anymore? Maybe your senses feel dulled and it is difficult to remember what makes you smile and feel alive? If you have experienced a divorce or are grieving the death of a loved one, you might be feeling so incredibly lonely, even in a crowded room. Loss of any kind can feel destabilizing and uncertainty is pretty damn scary. You want to feel to feel like life is not only manageable, but meaningful again. You want to feel hopeful.

From my experiences in working with grief / loss , life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and more, I have found that I tend to draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and a Person Centered Approach most often.
When I think of counseling, I envision all kinds of people who need all different kinds of support. I strive to be able to provide as many kinds of support as needed for my clients. People might want to explore their past, develop coping skills, learn how to respond to a certain life issue, find a listening ear, or have any other goal that will help them live their best life. My goal as a counselor is to help as many people as I can by promoting their wellness, in whatever way that looks like for that person, in a culturally responsive manner.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
