I would like to help you and your partner to RECONNECT, REBUILD, and HEAL your relationship . Lately, have you noticed frequent disagreements and conflicts surfacing within the relationship ? And during these conversations, have you noticed that either you or your partner is being overly critical and judgmental, defensive, stonewalling or gridlocked? If yes, these behaviors may indicate a negative cycle has developed and someone is feeling not heard, misunderstood, and/or diminished.

It can be overwhelming to navigate life on your own. While it may be scary, going to therapy can help you feel supported as you journey through the difficulties that life can present. I appreciate those who are willing to overcome their fears and allow me the honor of being a part of your story, helping you to navigate the obstacles.

I understand how difficult it is to reach out to a counselor and I seek to do everything I can to help individuals and couples feel at ease as they enter this healing journey.
I enjoy working with clients who seek to grow emotionally, relationally and spiritually. I believe therapy is an opportunity to come alongside others to help them heal and grow. I am relational in my approach. I believe that people have been broken in relationships and that we are healed in the context of relationships. Over the past 19 years I have had many clients reach their goals and experienced transformation through the counseling process. There is no greater privilege than being able to walk beside people in their healing journey. Evening and weekday appointments available. Contact me via phone, text or email.

If you’re reading this then you have decided that it’s time to get reconnected with yourself, your partner , or even your friends. Dating may be a struggle, you may be having trouble finding direction with your partner , or you may even be holding yourself back from opportunities that you feel you're not good enough for. There's one thing that is often the common denominator: relational trauma. When you’re hurt by the people that you love, it breaks and it builds.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
