Hi there and welcome! I’m a therapist that loves to bring a little lagniappe (that special lil’ something extra) into everything I do. I'm here to create a space where you can explore what matters, unpack the tough topics, and start putting the pieces together in a way that actually makes sense and is special to you.
Whether you’re trying make sense of your world, or carrying more than your fair share of emotional weight, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to sort it all out by yourself. I’m not here to judge, lecture, or throw out clichés—I’m here to walk beside you with curiosity, clarity, and clinical insight.

I love working with the non-conformists, artists, dreamers, and beautiful weirdos of the world! You might be in a non-traditional relationship (queer, poly, kinky) and wanting to find a therapist who fully accepts your identity - that's me! You might be unlearning the messages of diet culture - that's me, too! We may be a good fit if you've ever asked yourself: How can I be stronger, more confident, and more of a badass? Why the hell can't my family accept me as I am? How can I break my pattern of getting into toxic relationships? How can I build trust and love with my own body?

I specialize in couples therapy, anxiety, OCD, and religious deconstruction.
Something feels broken in your relationship, in your own mind, or both. Maybe you and your partner keep having the same fight with no resolution in sight. Maybe you've spent so long performing, achieving, or people-pleasing that you've lost track of who you actually are. Maybe your thoughts have become a loop you can't escape. Or maybe you're quietly deconstructing your faith and the story you were handed about who you're “supposed” to be. Whatever brought you here, you're exhausted and wondering if things can actually get better. They can, and I'm here to help.

We work with adults, children, and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss, PTSD, trauma, behavioral challenges, stress, and much more.
Our intensive trauma-focused therapy is proven-effective and focuses on deep healing. We have found that intensive trauma-focused therapy is more efficient than weekly hourly therapy. Often weekly hourly therapy focuses on your symptoms and coping skills such as yoga, mindfulness, biofeedback, DBT, etc. Our intensive trauma therapy focuses on healing the underlying trauma and giving you profound and lasting relief. We use the most efficient of the proven-effective trauma healing therapies: eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR) and progressive counting (PC). Our founder and executive director, Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, is a leading expert in EMDR, and the developer of PC as well as our intensive therapy model. All of our therapists are extensively trained, supervised, and experienced in intensive trauma therapy.

Most of my experience includes working with individuals who present with symptoms of anxiety and who are unable to navigate stressors of life.
My ideal client is willing to "do the work" outside of session, within their means or abilities, and is open to change to gain improvement in behaviors and thought processes. Someone who can't seem to pinpoint how to navigate toward self-improvement and has a willingness to discuss a plan for getting better. A person who has the ability to collaborate and fully participate in treatment. If a person is not sure of their goals, I can support a person in exploring ideal outcomes to determine goals for therapy.

My client's often see me because they feel stuck. The things that usually work aren't working the same and they are wanting to try something new - a different approach. We often work on discovering and exploring you and identifying your authentic self. This becomes a space to share with safety in mind and without judgement. We work through learning new skills, exploring the parts of our life that are contributing to the stress in our life, and learning that we don't have to be too hard on ourselves.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
