I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational stress, often at times when things feel overwhelming, uncertain, or difficult to manage alone.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in respect for your unique experiences, values, and goals. I don’t see my role as “fixing” problems, but rather walking alongside you, helping you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

Sleep is the foundation of everything, yet most people who struggle with it get generic advice that doesn’t work.I’m Kevin Harrison, LMFT and CCSH, a behavioral sleep specialist who treats insomnia, circadian disorders, nightmare disorder, and pediatric sleep using evidence-based behavioral approaches.
If you’re exhausted by exhaustion, lying awake, waking at 3 a.m., dreading bedtime, or if your child can’t settle without a battle, you’ve found the right place.
No pills. No guesswork. Just behavioral science that works.

I am so glad that you stopped by and took the time to read about me and explore the possibility of working together.Getting started is always the hardest part of any road to change. Deciding who you are going to trust with your information is also an important part of your new beginnings. I want to be supportive of your goals and work together in discovering how you can reach and surpass them. In my time away from being a therapist, the most important thing to me is my family - my wife and three young children - and spending as much of my time with them that I can. I enjoy hiking, fishing, cooking and reading when I have the time.

I have also counseled individuals struggling with OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, low self-esteem, and developmental disabilities.
I align with the theoretical perspective that treatment meant to ease emotional, mental, or physical discomfort is not fully effective until we acknowledge the spiritual aspect of our difficulty, which leads me integrate Christian principles with compatible psychological perspectives such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Nature-Based Therapy

In my view, the relationship of feelings and thoughts to behavior is important in understanding all aspects of our lives, including spiritual awareness. I use a variety of strategies that can help people make sense of their world, strategies that are mostly cognitive and insight-oriented in nature. These strategies are based on the notion that the way people see themselves and the world, influences how they feel and behave. For instance, it may be helpful to examine your family relationships to look at patterns of coping skills. We will talk about these strategies during our sessions and decide what will best fit your situation.

As a licensed mental health counselor with over 15 years of experience, I support individuals in understanding their triggers, gaining deeper insight into their mental health needs, and developing practical strategies to move forward.

You may notice yourself becoming more withdrawn, overwhelmed, or disconnected from activities that once brought you joy. Or maybe your child is struggling— more irritable, more sensitive, or avoiding situations that once felt easy. When usual coping strategies stop working, it’s normal to feel uncertain about what to do next.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
