I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational stress, often at times when things feel overwhelming, uncertain, or difficult to manage alone. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in respect for your unique experiences, values, and goals. I don’t see my role as “fixing” problems, but rather walking alongside you, helping you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

Everyone thinks you have it together. People would never guess how much you're struggling, or how your brain NEVER shuts off. You're replaying conversations, overthinking everything, carrying everyone else's emotional baggage, and wondering why you can't seem to relax. You're exhausted, but slowing down somehow feels harder than keeping busy. You learned how to survive long before you knew how to rest. If you're reading this and feel like this is you... you're in the right place.

I have worked in both individual and group settings assisting individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, mood disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, and substance use challenges.
Every flower needs both sunshine and rain to grow. Like flowers, I believe that our growth relies on our darkest days as much as it does our happiest. My goal is to assist clients in celebrating the sunshine and navigating through the rain.

Life in general, can be challenging. I believe in the healing power of telling your story in a judgement-free environment where you feel safe. Research consistently shows it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, more than any other factor including the method of therapy, predicting the clients’ ability to use therapy to help themselves and make positive life changes. Therapy does not always solve the problems brought to it, but the best chance for success is when there is a strong therapeutic relationship. To me, the critical foundation of our counseling relationship is a partnership based on mutual respect and honesty.

When you are feeling overwhelmed by life, a therapist can help you. You know that you want to feel better - and be better for yourself and others - but when you have been doing the things that have always worked in the past and find they are not working now, it may be time to enlist the support of a therapist.  I love to work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, sad, anxious, indecisive, or have any other painful emotion. Instead of feeling stuck, I want to help you feel empowered to move forward and help manage those painful feelings.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
