Is something keeping your peace? Do you struggle daily/weekly with anxiety and/or depression. Are you ready to move forward and be full of life? Often times we get stuck in our past or stuck in the negatives because it's comfortable and known. It's your choice to stay stuck or to take a chance and move forward. The unknown can be a very scary place but with positive coping skills, my support and encouragement, I can show you how to step back, reevaluate your scenario and prepare yourself to move forward.

I began my career as a school counselor, and have been in private practice since 2009. I enjoy working with people on an individual basis to guide them toward processing and change. My philosophy of counseling is to meet clients in the space in which they are ready, and help them find where they want to be. My history as a counselor includes working with parent/child relationships, couples and individuals to create more effective communication patterns. I enjoy working with clients as young as 10, through the lifespan.

Quality. Integrity. Transparency. Holistic & Personalized Care. These are the values upon which I have built my practice. Furthermore, I maintain a smaller caseload in order to uphold these values. Am I the best fit for everyone? Of course not. Am I perfect? Not even close. But I take pride in being genuine & authentic with people. I believe that by modeling honesty & vulnerability, then my clients will feel comfortable doing the same. Because in the end, your journey is about you. You being honest with yourself. You being the best version of you. You finding your own “True North” & allowing it to guide you along life’s path.

I’ve learned that therapy is most effective with two key elements. The first is that a person needs to be ready. Ready to make changes. Ready to take an honest look at themselves. Most of us have fallen into the trap of repeating the same patterns, hoping things will shift on their own. But meaningful change requires intentional effort- new behaviors, new ways of thinking, and letting go of habits that no longer serve us. I aim to support people through that process, blending practical strategies with deeper exploration of how core beliefs, negative thought patterns, and family dynamics influence current behaviors and relationships.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in high-pressure work, or just not like yourself anymore. Maybe you’ve hit all your goals but still feel disconnected, anxious, or on edge. If you’ve tried to push through, but your body and emotions are telling you something’s off — therapy can help. I work with clients to unpack what’s beneath the surface so they can feel more grounded, whole, and clear.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
