Are you a sensitive, spiritual, and empathetic person who has experienced a spiritual awakening and now feels the weight of the world on your shoulders? Do you give so much to others that your own needs are overlooked, leaving you burnt out, exhausted, or emotionally drained? You are not alone. I work with self-aware, motivated individuals, especially LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients, who want to reclaim their energy, set healthy boundaries, and feel safe living authentically without hiding or masking who they truly are.

My clinical lens is rooted in harm-reduction, person-in-environment, trauma-informed approaches, and family systems. I generally use an eclectic approach with modalities, but DBT is my favorite. I started my social work career in community-based mental health; in-home family therapy, crisis response, domestic violence, and supporting adolescents interfacing with the criminal justice system. I'm here for the clients who find themselves operating outside of societal norms and learning how to build their own path. I like to think of myself as equal parts affirming and challenging.

I am here to support any and all aspects of your internal world and external realities.

I believe it is my job to collaborate with my clients to create a Narrative that feels authentic and attuned, and goes beyond binary thinking. We often get lost in what we feel like we should or can't do, which confines us in little boxes that make it hard for us to feel vibrant and celebrate our uniqueness. When we explore and deconstruct the social constraints and the context of the environment that shaped us, we begin to discover the biases that don't align with our personal experiences or beliefs. This grants the autonomy and freedom to get in touch with our most core self and better understand how we interact with our world.

Exhausted from anxiously battling against the current? I'm here to support you in finding better ways to move through the heaviness, and strengthen your ability to navigate the state of the world while still finding joy, ease, love, belonging, and meaningful resistance to harmful systems. Feeling disconnected from one’s sense of self and body, from others, from community, can lead us to feel empty, aching and traumatized. Repairing connections can help us feel safer in our own bodies. We'll work through shame to help you feel safer, and be braver, more resilient, and more deeply connected to yourself and the people around you.

On the outside you seem fine, but inside your emotions feel loud, heavy, and misunderstood. Maybe you hold back out of fear of judgment, conflict, or feeling “too much.” You deserve a space where your feelings make sense, where you can unpack without shame and learn to communicate with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Together, we’ll strengthen the relationships that matter most—especially the one you have with yourself. I draw from Gottman Method Therapy with couples and EMDR to help process trauma, deepen insight, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Taking the first step toward healing can feel overwhelming, especially when addiction, childhood trauma, or attachment wounds are part of your story. As a physician providing integrated psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care, I help adults understand and heal the deeper patterns driving emotional distress and substance use. My work focuses on addiction and relational trauma that often underlie anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. Using an attachment-focused approach with EMDR therapy, I support meaningful, lasting change in a collaborative, unhurried, and respectful space that honors your pace.

Transgender Therapists
As a gender-diverse individual, why might I want to see a therapist who is also gender diverse?
A trans or gender-diverse client may want to see a therapist who is also trans or gender diverse because the client may feel safer sharing their experiences and more confident that the therapist will understand, validate, and support them. But trans or gender-diverse clients can also benefit from therapy with cisgender therapists; this is a personal decision based on the connection between the client and the therapist, and if that connection is strong, therapy will be successful.
What if I cannot find a therapist who shares my gender identity?
Therapy can still be effective if a therapist does not share a client’s gender identity; a large body of research indicates that the most important factor in successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. A therapist can also be interviewed for sensitivity and competence on gender identity and expression to ensure they possess appropriate knowledge and skills. Many therapists have excellent training and extensive experience working with gender-diverse clients, and that expertise can be invaluable despite a therapist not sharing the same firsthand experiences.
How can I recognize a good therapist for working with gender-diverse clients?
An experienced therapist should be able to help clients explore their gender identity and expression, alleviate discomfort related to their gender identity, treat mental health challenges and trauma, address existing relationships and communication with family members and loved ones, and determine the next steps pertaining to nonmedical or medical gender-affirming interventions. To recognize a good therapist, clients can ask about these topics and explore their comfort and connection with the clinician.
How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience working with transgender clients?
Clients should feel comfortable asking therapists directly about their experience working with transgender or gender-diverse clientele. For example, clients may ask about the therapist’s training and education with regard to gender identity, how many trans clients they’ve worked with in the past, and what sorts of matters were discussed. You may wish to inquire how a therapist specifically supports the needs of transgender clients or clients questioning their gender identity. A good clinician who is nonetheless not the right fit for you is often happy to make referrals to others based on the concerns you articulate in a preliminary conversation.
