You know one thing for sure- you don't want the marriage your parents had! I enjoy working with folks with low sexual desire or desire differences in couples, kink/fetish involvement, queer identities, unwanted sexual behaviors (infidelity, porn addiction, sex addiction), performance anxiety and erectile dysfunction, and sexual pain.
Do you find yourself feeling on edge, anxious, or overwhelmed with emotion - sometimes without a clear reason why? Painful experiences in life can get "stuck" in the mind and body, making it difficult to relax. Our work together will build on your strengths to develop inner calm, deeper relationships, and greater confidence in who you are.

Maybe you’ve always felt different—too quiet, too intense, too weird, too much, or not enough. Maybe you’ve spent your life on the outside looking in, uncomfortable in your own skin, or like you’re constantly performing just to get through the day. You might find yourself wrestling with questions like: Who am I, really? What’s the point of all this? Will I ever feel at home in myself?

You are exhausted. You have tried every diet, fix, and coping skill, yet you still wake up hating your body, fighting your thoughts, and wondering why you cannot get it together. You are not the problem. Patterns like binge eating, body shame, people pleasing, ADHD overwhelm, trauma responses, toxic relationships, and painful life transitions are not failures but survival strategies you have outgrown. I help women rebuild trust with themselves and create real, lasting healing. If you want something deeper, I am here.

The bright promising world we once knew can grow dark through our perceived negative experiences in life. It is hard to get out of a dark or chaotic place if we cannot see our way out. Mental health or Substance abuse counseling helps us to identify the incidents in life that may have influenced our current behavior, process it, and then restructure our thoughts and lives so that we can recapture a view of that light we once lost sight of. We can then set goals with intentional actions to help move forward to a more fulfilling version of ourselves through positive thought, constructive choices, and healthy relationships.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists

Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?

Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?

Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
