A few of my specialties include stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, confidence, and depression.
As they say now, "Life be life'n!" Challenges arise everyday that may cause you stress, anxiety, or maybe even feel a little less motivated. You need someone neutral to talk to and help you gain an understanding and a different perspective before you actually crash out. You want to find solutions to those concerns, but you don't know where to start. Together, we will unpack and explore any challenges. We will work together to reframe negative thought patterns. We will brainstorm and partner on how to navigate your concerns. I will provide tools and resources that you may find helpful along the way.

Nice to meet you! Alright, buckle up, because we are diving into the rollercoaster of your thoughts! Picture me as your emotional tour guide. I see the masks you wear and encourage them to shed off. Life’s messy and therapy with me is like embracing the messiness with open arms with a toolbox full of wisdom nuggets. I know we haven’t met, but I already trust you. I trust in the goodness of all parts of you, in your ability to face your fears, and in your already present, compassionate self. I’d be honored to remind you of these strengths while you start a journey towards healing – you. I am direct yet compassionate in my approach.

Welcome! If you're reading this message, you're probably ready to make some life changes or find a place to be understood. You are? Keep reading. My hope is that if you're feeling disappointed, overwhelmed or just want to work towards your goals and refocus, we address that together. Therapy can seem overwhelming, but I believe that everyone should have a non-biased person to work out their challenges with that can't and won't talk to anyone else in their circle about those challenges. Imagine how much easier things would be if everyone had a therapist!

Libby's clients are ready to interrupt their cycles of withdrawal, rage, having to "be right," criticism, defensiveness, approval-seeking, infidelity, or low self-esteem. She helps clients explore the vulnerable and protective parts of themselves. Often acquired from childhood, these personality aspects can block the awareness and skills needed to effectively communicate needs, respond to others, and deepen and enjoy life. Our lives can become the means of personal, relationship and spiritual growth rather than sources of pointless struggles. She helps clients explore their struggles with an open, curious, and accepting mindset.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
