Do you ever feel like you’re holding everything together for everyone but inside you’re tired, anxious, and longing for steadiness? Maybe conflict makes you shut down, or you find yourself repeating relationship patterns you promised you’d outgrow. If you’re ready for relief and real change, you’re in the right place. If old experiences keep echoing into your present, tension in your relationships, people-pleasing, anxiety that won’t turn off, you’re not alone. I offer warm, trauma-informed therapy that blends EMDR with relational, attachment-focused work so you can feel safer, clearer, and more connected.

Whether you’re navigating new motherhood, a major life transition, a career shift or healing from past experiences, I want you to know that your feelings are valid, and your well-being matters. I am passionate about supporting women in reclaiming their identity, confidence, and inner strength.

I enjoy working with multicultural population that includes adolescent and adult individuals in the areas of anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, difficulties in relationships, childhood trauma, and women related challenges among others.
I utilize a well-rounded experiential therapy model from a Client-Centered perspective. Together we will work to identify unconscious thoughts and behaviors and bring them into consciousness. I believe that this approach uncovers the root causes of interpersonal turmoil and allows for healing from within.

I have a passion for assisting individuals with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, self-esteem, and life adjustments to achieve their overall vision of wellness via evidenced-based therapy and/or Christian faith-based therapy.
Whether it is anxiety, depression, grief/loss, burnout, relationships, family conflict, parenting issues, or managing emotions, you are desiring something different, and better. Because life is a journey and not a destination, how YOU define your past, identify YOUR present, and see YOUR future is important. Additionally, the tools you use to navigate your experiences aid in the outcomes of your life. Peace is possible. Wellness is possible. Life will not stop happening in the journey; however, you get to decide and define what wellness is for you.

Do you feel like you’re always holding it together for others while feeling anxious, exhausted, or emotionally drained? You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, body image concerns, or a life transition that’s left you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. Stress may show up as constant worry, self-doubt, fatigue, or tension in your body. Many of the women I work with are used to pushing through stress, minimizing their needs, and prioritizing others. Looking for a therapist who understands how identity, culture, and lived experiences affect your mental health?

I became a counselor because I’m passionate about helping people heal and grow. For nearly 10 years, I’ve served North Carolina as a Licensed Counselor, supporting clients of all ages through life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where each person is met with understanding that enables them to move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life. My own experiences have shaped my desire to help others, and I offer the same empathy and care I would want to receive myself.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
