Common reasons people call for services include adjustment problems, anxiety and worrying, behavioral problems, depression or sadness, divorce, impulse/attention problems, loss issues, parenting difficulties, and relationship or school problems.
Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If you are looking for things to change and are willing to work with me, things can get better. So many clients enter therapy with apprehension and a lack of hope for things to improve. I focus my practice on creating trust and getting my clients back on track as quickly and as comfortably as possible. Therapy begins with an end in mind and you and I would work together to make sure we are always making progress towards goals.

, new couples wanting to make a solid start of their lives, and co- parenting for those who chose to separate but need parent.
I have had many years of experience working with adolescents, children, adults, and their families in both facilities as well as in homes. Through this experience, I have built my practice of clinicians who really are able to connect and listen to our clients. My work with relationships, couples and families has led me to my current practice. Meeting people where they are is so important. Helping them find their strengths and supports within their life, working on goals that are hopeful and achieveable, and finally helping them find their purpose in life, their relationships, and within themselves is the ultimate goal of therapy

When working with children, I work with parents to improve family communication styles, help with setting healthy expectations and boundaries, strengthen family bonds through connection and fun, and teach evidenced-based parenting skills.
Is your child or teen overly emotional and reactive? Does your child withdrawal from others or refuse to try things because he or she is afraid of failing or worried about what others think? Does he or she have large emotional outbursts over small things? Or is your child or teen struggling with low self-esteem, communication with others, and developing meaningful friendships? Is your child or teen overly anxious when asked to do a task, transition to a new activity, or to try something new? Has your child or teen experienced a difficult life event, transition, or traumatic experience? You are not alone and I can help.

My areas of focus are anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, and parenting.
Threats to our health, safety, and future seem to be coming at us from all sides. Living in a world where "reality" is mostly artificially contrived and staged, we feel inferior and flawed. Moreover, parenting, preparing our children to succeed in uncertainty, is challenging, especially with so many conflicting opinions of "how to."

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
