I work with children, adolescents, and adults on a wide range of concerns, including complex trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, and ODD .
When we experience trauma, we are often left feeling alone, misunderstood, invisible, and unsafe, even within ourselves. Through the process of therapy, we can regain hope, connection, safety, and understanding of ourselves and others. I use wide-range of evidenced-based modalities, from psychodynamic and CBT to EMDR and somatic therapies to decrease the emotional reactivity, tension, and isolation that trauma can create. Regardless of our trauma histories, our modern world can contribute to feelings of disconnection, dissatisfaction, and uncertainty about our worth and our purpose.

You have a story to tell. Whether it's the biggest secret you have, or if you've told it all before, something about your story is preventing you from living the life you want. With you as the expert in your life, I hope to walk along side you and be a witness to your story, providing guidance tailored to your needs along the way. Together we will collaborate until you feel able to tell your story the way you want to, or perhaps re-write it all together.

I began to become oppositional toward authority and was struggling in multiple settings.
Now accepting clients across North Carolina and South Carolina. As a child I was diagnosed with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and various other labels. None of those labels mattered though, because, we all have the ability to overcome the challenges in our lives and gain personal strength through the therapy process. I hope to be the help others seek. We will work together to identify specific goals and steps that will help you and your family reach greater satisfaction and happiness in life. I will utilize various modalities and theoretical approaches to individualize an approach for you.

The earlier we instill positive ways to manage our lives the better. Early intervention breaks negative family patterns. Children and teens who have had difficulties in school, traumas, bullying, oppositional defiance, and adjustments such as divorce or a move can find ways to manage and build on their strengths. Clients such as children through teens with anxiety, or depression, can likewise find coping skills tailored for them to lead happy healthy lives. Children can engage in play therapy and sand tray therapy, and teens in art therapy or talk therapy. Caregivers can utilize CPRT. Trauma clients can benefit from EMDR therapy.

Oppositional Defiance (ODD) Therapists
All children are oppositional from time to time. But their behavior can become incessantly and openly uncooperative such that it stands out relative to other children. Oppositional Defiant Disorder (or sometimes referred to as "ODD") tends to be evidenced by frequent temper tantrums, excessive arguing with adults, the questioning of rules, active defiance and refusal to comply with adult requests. You may also see deliberate attempts to annoy or upset people, blaming of others, being touchy or easily annoyed by others, frequent anger and resentment, mean and hateful talking when upset, a spiteful attitude and revenge seeking.

These therapists can help with oppositional defiance in Charlotte or provide counseling for parents handling an oppositional defiant kid in Charlotte, oppositional defiant teen or oppositional defiant children in Charlotte.
