I became a counselor because I’m passionate about helping people heal and grow. For nearly 10 years, I’ve served North Carolina as a Licensed Counselor, supporting clients of all ages through life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where each person is met with understanding that enables them to move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life. My own experiences have shaped my desire to help others, and I offer the same empathy and care I would want to receive myself.

As a Reiki Master Teacher and Ordained Minister, I can integrate Christian, Afro-diasporic (ATRs), and Indigenous spirituality at your request.
You may be successful and high achieving on the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed by past trauma, confusing relationship patterns, or major life transitions. You might struggle with people-pleasing, difficulty trusting others, anxious attachment, emotional burnout, or feeling disconnected from yourself despite everything you’ve accomplished.
Therapy can help you understand these patterns and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships—with yourself and with others.

If dating keeps hurting—even when you’re doing ‘the work’—it’s not because you’re choosing wrong.
It’s because your nervous system learned love through pain.
The Joy Therapist is not for people who want connection tips.
She’s for people who are done pathologizing themselves for attachment pain.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re carrying everything alone. Anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, relationship stress, or sudden changes can leave you feeling stuck and misunderstood. I work with adults who want clarity, support, and a place to exhale. My approach is simple: I listen deeply, help you make sense of your feelings, and offer practical tools you can use. I accept many insurance plans through Headway, including Aetna, Cigna, Optum, BCBS NC, and more. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

You may feel like you are carrying so much on your shoulders, from expectations and responsibilities to the quiet pressure to keep everything together. You might be building your career while struggling with perfectionism, anxiety, or burnout. You may be a mom giving so much of yourself to others that you are unsure when you last cared for your own needs. Or you could be a teen or college student trying to figure out who you are while balancing school, relationships, and your future. Wherever you are in your journey, your experiences are valid, and you do not have to navigate them alone.

On the outside you seem fine, but inside your emotions feel loud, heavy, and misunderstood. Maybe you hold back out of fear of judgment, conflict, or feeling “too much.” You deserve a space where your feelings make sense, where you can unpack without shame and learn to communicate with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Together, we’ll strengthen the relationships that matter most—especially the one you have with yourself. I draw from Gottman Method Therapy with couples and EMDR to help process trauma, deepen insight, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What are the advantages of seeing a Native American therapist?
Therapists are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions through various forms of talk therapy and behavioral interventions. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is an essential part of feeling supported and understood in care. For many Native American individuals, working with a provider who shares or respects their cultural background can foster a deeper sense of trust and connection in the therapeutic process. Native American therapists may be especially well-equipped to address topics such as historical trauma, intergenerational grief, and cultural identity—factors that can significantly shape the mental health experiences of Native American clients. These providers may also be knowledgeable about and incorporate Indigenous healing traditions, which can be beneficial for clients seeking this approach. Additionally, Native American therapists may be more familiar with community resources, support networks, or other culturally-aligned providers who can offer further support.
How to find a Native American therapist?
Psychology Today’s online directory is a useful tool for finding a Native American therapist. You can filter for providers who identify as Native American or who mention working with Indigenous populations and highlight cultural competence in their profiles. Look for signs such as experience with tribal communities, familiarity with Native traditions, or a focus on trauma-informed care. Depending on your preferences and needs, it may also be important to ask whether a provider offers telehealth, which therapeutic approaches they use, and whether they accept your insurance. If you're unable to find a therapist who personally identifies as Native American, you may also consider providers who have experience working with Native clients or who demonstrate a clear commitment to cultural humility and respect for Native American beliefs and traditions. You might also consider a blended approach—for example, seeing a therapist for talk therapy while also seeing a Native healer or counselor for more culturally-specific support.
