As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I help clients heal from emotional and relationship concerns. I believe in the values of happiness, health, and purpose. Over the last 5 years, I have experience working with individuals, couples and families struggling with relationships, parenting, and life transitions. I understand the importance of relationships throughout life and utilize my skills to assist parents, couples, and families in building healthy, long-lasting relationships. It is a natural occurrence in all relationships to have periods of highs and lows. Oftentimes the stressors of life make it difficult to heal from the lows and transform your marriage with life’s changing stages.

I do not take insurance, I work with couples and individuals who are willing to do whatever it takes to save their marriage or relationship. It is my job to be a co-pilot to help guide you and your partner through the storms of conflict, infidelity, grief, trauma, and life’s transitions such as parenting, employment, and blended family issues. As a fellow relationship partner who has been married for 17 years (and counting) with three kids, I personally can relate to the ups and downs of making a relationship work.

I am an interactive, cognitive behavioral client-centered therapist who focuses on the development of healthy relationships that have been impacted by trauma, grief and loss, infidelity, life transitions, depression, domestic and substance abuse. My empathetic and compassionate approach provides support and practical feedback while building on client's strengths using an empowerment model and the development of deeper self-discovery and awareness. The goal is to identify effective coping strategies to manage what clients are currently experiencing. I endeavor to walk alongside of clients in the midst of their pain and their joy.

The world is in the midst of great changes and challenges. Our mental health must be prioritized, or we will needlessly suffer as we accept and adapt to what is happening in our lives.

There are seasons in life when the opportunity to grow can come from both joyful and challenging circumstances or complicated issues and relationships. It is my hope that in the safe,non-judgmental space of therapy we can begin to discover your core resiliency, strengths and create awareness for integrating healthy coping and communication skills for healing. I enjoy helping couples discover relational dynamics and patterns that keep them from enjoying a safe, close and vibrant relationship. I am well suited to work with families and individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, grief and life stage transitioning.

Prior to entering into the field of counseling, I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise. I also worked for several years on staff with a Christian college ministry at Virginia Tech. These experiences have contributed to my holistic approach to counseling, considering the interconnectedness of one's psychological, emotional, spiritual, and physical health on overall well-being and quality of life.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina for over 25 years. I take seriously the trust that clients place in me when choosing to work with me in psychotherapy and as a result I create a safe, non-judgmental space where life's challenges can be examined and explored and where a sense of health and well being can be found or reestablished. My specialties include relationship/couples counseling, trauma resolution, and the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy using the spiritual framework of my clients.
