I have specific experience in helping heal from narcissistic abuse, addictions, marital strife, infidelity as well as over 15 years in practice working with grief, depression, anxiety and learning healthy sexuality.
Having been counseling for over 15 years, I know that things can get out of control. We're told that we must pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and handle anything that comes our way, but we struggle to do it on our own. Many of us have been impacted by addictions, tragedy, narcissism, depression, anxiety, things under our control and things out of our control. We start to question ourselves and wonder what’s healthy even look like? I focus on helping people heal, bringing health back into their life, and then find their best path forward.

Does it sometimes feel like your partner doesn't understand you? Have you experienced an affair or some other kind of infidelity ? Connecting to our partner begins with understanding our own wants and desires and learning to communicate with one another in the most effective way possible. Relationships can give us a lot of comfort, but to be their best, they require hard work - and some guidance every now and then.

Many of my clients look good on the outside, yet feel mildly miserable on the inside. Pain is motivating and when clients are hurting, they call to schedule an appointment. It takes more than intellect to change behavior. Most of my clients are intelligent and know what they "should" do, yet struggle to take healthy action. I work with people (or partners) who struggle with substances and behavioral medicators such as alcohol, porn, overeating and codependency. I treat individuals, couples and families that need help with addiction, mental illness, infidelity or simply feeling stuck. It is a relief to not have to do it alone.

I have worked with a variety of populations and culturally diverse ethnic groups managing attachment injuries, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, high functioning Autism, codependency, grief, marital/family conflict, infidelity , parenting issues, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, women/men’s issues, and day-to-day stressors.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology and graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My therapy approach is taken from an attachment theory and perspective. I believe humans are wired to feel connected and that we all greatly benefit from healthy relationships. Without this connectedness, we may experience loneliness or isolation. I provide a safe, accepting space for individuals, couples, and families using a positive Existential Therapy Model to support self-awareness, meaningful relationships, and values of life.

Whether that is the insecurity of this being the right one or the pain of relational betrayal , providing a place that can be an oasis on your journey to security and wholeness is my passion for my clients.
The typical clients I work with are like you and me, usually have successful careers, have a faith orientation, although not always, and have a tremendous longing to find, repair, or revitalize something gone wrong in themselves or in relationship with those closest. They are individuals and couples who are hurting at their core, who want more than just a quick fix, a few techniques, or merely a listening ear. They want answers, real, deep, transforming answers. They realize deep down that it is probably going to take longer than they want or expect. But, they are longing and willing to do whatever it takes to get to a better place

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
