Hi, I’m Kiki Jacobson. As a financial mental health therapist, I work with clients at the intersection of money & emotions. Many people struggle with finances because of stress, beliefs, & emotional patterns around money. I help to identify core money beliefs, increase emotional awareness around money-related triggers, reduce shame by normalizing emotional responses to money, improve flexible/empowered financial beliefs, increase financial literacy & build healthier habits around budgeting & decision making. By integrating spiritual awareness, financial decisions can support not only external stability, but also inner wellbeing :)

You deserve support that affirms who you are, holds complexity with compassion, and walks alongside you during moments where you need it the most. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma (including complex and developmental trauma), dissociation, identity exploration, acculturation and relationship challenges. Many of my clients hold LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC identities and are processing the impacts of systemic oppression, religious harm, immigration, intimate partner violence, and childhood abuse; seeking a space where they don’t have to explain the basics of who they are.

You may be feeling tired in a way that rest doesn’t quite touch, carrying tension in your body, moving through your days on alert, or holding more than feels sustainable. In the midst of ongoing uncertainty, collective stress, and a world that rarely slows down, it can be hard to find room to breathe, reflect, or feel supported. You might notice a quiet longing for steadiness, relief, or a way forward that feels more aligned, something that allows you to soften without falling apart, and to keep moving without staying in survival mode.

Welcome! I am a board certified LCSW with over 15 years of practice experience with military personnel and their families. I retired from the U.S. Army in 2022 and my first experience with behavioral health was as a client following my first combat deployment. Therapy gave me an opportunity to heal in a non-judgmental environment and helped me return mentally and emotionally. Needless to say, I became a convert to the process and aim to help others find that safe environment to sort their stuff out.

Life can start to feel overwhelming when you’re carrying too much for too long, whether that’s anxiety that won’t quiet down, relationship patterns that keep repeating, or past experiences that still show up in the present. You might look like you have it together on the outside, but internally feel stuck, disconnected, or exhausted from trying to manage it all on your own. I work with individuals who are ready for more than just surface-level conversations. Many of my clients come in feeling uncertain about how to move forward, but they’re open to understanding themselves more deeply and making real, lasting changes.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Many of the people I work with are carrying a LOT while feeling pressure to hold it together. Therapy can be a place to exhale, feel understood, and start making sense of what’s going on beneath the surface. I love working with teens and college students navigating anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, and the pressure to perform, fit in, or have life figured out. Growing up and young adulthood are hard, and sometimes you just need a space where you don’t have to pretend.

Life transitions can feel exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Whether you’re in college, graduating, moving to a new place, leaving home, starting a new job, or managing more responsibilities than ever before, it’s normal to feel stressed, unsure, or emotionally drained. You may find yourself worrying a lot, doubting yourself, struggling with confidence or self-esteem, losing motivation for things you used to enjoy, having difficulty concentrating, or feeling sad. These experiences are more common than you might think—and they don’t mean you’re failing. Counseling offers a safe, supportive space to slow down, feel heard.

You may have been thinking about therapy for a long time, but part of you feel unsure. Maybe you’ve learned to handle things on your own, or you’re used to being the strong one for everyone else. Even so, something in you knows you don’t want to keep repeating the same patterns, feeling the same emotional weight, or settling for a version of life that doesn’t fully reflect who you are. Many of the people I work with come in feeling both ready and hesitant. They want someone they can genuinely relate to, someone who sees beyond the surface and understands the deeper layers of their experience.

You’re always exhausted. The alarm clock buzzes, and you struggle to open your eyes. The blanket feels like it’s made of lead as you attempt to get out of bed. It’s the same every morning, and things only worsen from there. You sleepwalk through each day in a thick, hazy fog. You’re not fully present, but you go through the motions because you’re supposed to. It’s getting difficult to remember a time when you actually felt good, and you can’t imagine ever feeling happy again. You've tried fixing your problems, but no solution lasts for long. You know that something needs to change, but you don’t know how. It feels hopeless!

When something hurts physically, we go to the doctor. When we want to improve our dental health, we go to the dentist. When we want to improve our physical health, we go to a nutritionist. But where do we go when everything feels heavy or painful? I’ve always said that being happy all the time is a myth—but living in peace can become a reality. We live in a society that demands more from us every day. We have to constantly adapt to life’s changes and often carry emotional burdens that make our days heavier. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish.
