I utilize basic Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety for trauma.
Seeking a counselor can be hard, even scary. I provide a welcoming place that is quiet, safe and relaxing. This is your time to decide what you most want, what changes you can make, and how to do it. At your initial visit you get to tell your story and discuss your goals. Within our first meeting we create a plan for how to make the changes you want. There's no rush and no pressure. I believe everyone has the power to get the life they want. It will take some work, and you now have a partner to guide you there.

I believe there is power in learning to balance our lives emotionally and spiritually. I have 20-plus years as a counselor, and have been able to help clients find emotional and general life balance. I draw from primary treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Solution Focussed, Psychodynamic and Existential Theories. Ideally, at the conclusion of counseling, a client will be able to actively deal with their internal states in a way that allows them to feel more at peace with increased self esteem, and well being.

My style draws primarily from existentialism, CBT & DBT, narrative, positive, and relational psychology, harm reduction, and mindfulness.
Life is a funny thing. And often terribly complicated. During our journey in this world, we often face challenges that can feel too big or ongoing. Whether it’s with chronic feelings of anxiousness, depression, emptiness, issues about sexual orientation, gender, or ethnicity, relationship conflict, sleep disturbances, substance misuse, school or work issues, or any combination of those, many of us struggle silently. But you don't have to. It can help to work with a therapist with a deep understanding of what it’s like with some of those struggles and who is passionate about helping others learn to thrive despite these adversities.

I am skilled in several evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, and DBT.
Therapy is a powerful tool that can help you recognize perceptions and behavior patterns that may have served you at some point but that currently hold you back. It can help you harness your strengths, heal from trauma, become more fully present, develop more authentic connections, and relate to your emotions as allies instead of enemies. I offer a flexible approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based treatments while taking into account your unique needs and preferences. I highly value the working relationship and will check in with you regularly about how therapy is going and whether you are on track with your goals.

I use a verity of modalities in my practice including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Solution Focused and Trauma Focused interventions.
Looking for clarity, struggling with substance use, fighting with depression and anxiety, or any other mental health issues. I can assist. I help my clients in navigating the stressors of their individual lives. I identify the different values and ideologies of all my clients. Together we map a situation and figure out a solution that is in line with their personal desires so they are able to reach goals set. The three theories I use most in my practice are humanistic/self-determination, behaviorism and psychodynamic theory. With humanistic/self-determination theory I can ensure I help my clients achieve their highest potential.

I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy interventions into my approach because I believe having knowledge of these skills can be essential for depression and anxiety.
I am passionate about working with individuals to strengthen their mental health and achieve the version of themselves that they strive to be. I approach counseling from a person-centered view, believing everyone has the power to make changes toward their own healing and growth as well as the ability to discover this for themselves. I believe it is important for a therapist to be empathetic and genuine with their clients while displaying unconditional positive regard.

I utilize CBT and DBT frameworks to help clients find peace and presence in their own lives.
Throughout our lives we are forced to confront big questions about our identity, potential, goals, developing healthy relationships, and how to manage mental health symptoms. Learning skills can help us to manage our emotions, tolerate stress and communicate with others. I am honored to walk alongside anyone on a journey to develop their sense of self whether it is related to identity development, a life transition, changing roles, or self-introspection and growth.

I have a strong foundation in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which allows me to meet clients where they are at and integrate other modalities such as Exposure Response Prevention and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I work with women across the lifespan with a primary focus in those who are trying to conceive, pregnant, adjusting to motherhood, as well as women navigating being a part of the "sandwich" generation. With over 14 years of experience, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship issues. I value being a lifelong learner in this profession and have advanced training as a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider and in Exposure Response Prevention for OCD in adults.

Because each individual is unique, I draw from an eclectic approach of modalities; narrative therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, Emotion–Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, motivational interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
When certain parts of our life feel out of control, it creates stress that impacts other areas of our life. Seeking help can feel like a chore. Not only do you have to find a therapist that feels like a good fit, but you have to tell your story to a stranger. I know all of this, and I want to make it feel easy, productive, and worth your time. I enjoy helping all people, but some of my refined interests include traumatic stress, attachment injuries, SUD's, and life transitions. I can help adults, teens, kids, couples and families. In my work with teens, I have interest and experience in helping adoptees and transnational adoptees.
