Each of us have encountered circumstances that have tested us and, possibly, led us to question past decisions and/or our ability to navigate difficulty situations. RCC works with individuals who are struggling to identify or renew their purpose in life, develop and utilize coping skills, or want to improve the quality of their relationships. We also work with couples who want to heal their relationship and restore trust. This can include couples who have experienced infidelity or couples who want to improve the quality of their communication and identify ways to navigate common issues (i.e. arguing fair, parenting).

At an early age, I knew that my path in life was to become a therapist. This goal has driven both my education and clinical experiences over the past decade. Over the years, I have worked in clinics serving children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance misuse, ADHD, parenting challenges, and life transitions. My experiences have shaped who I am as an individual and has directly impacted my therapeutic style.

My therapy sessions are designed to promote personal growth as defined by you. I believe that emotional and behavioral challenges are a result of our brains not working in a way that helps us achieve our goals. In therapy you will learn ways to help your brain heal, reframe your thoughts, and learn how to cope with daily challenges.

People come to me because they want to better understand addiction, mental health, and often how to treat both at the same time. Mood and anxiety disorders are common for those struggling with addiction, and not receiving the right care can result in increased relapses and a poor quality of life. When a new client is ready to work with me they will find a compassionate and open counselor with the knowledge to treat multiple disorders and to deal with each one effectively. Being collaborative, I enjoy connecting family members and physicians in your care as well as helping you find community-based recovery resources

Life sometimes tends to get in the way of a person's happiness. Sometimes a person may feel overwhelmed that they do not have anyone to talk to. Family members are not a resource that a client may want to utilize in their moment of distress. I want my clients to feel that they have a resource and someone to help them through the different avenues of life. I want my clients too know they are not alone, and they have someone to help them navigate through their struggles. I have worked with families of different backgrounds and have met them where they are in life. I'm here to help you develop and learn new options.

Cigna and Evernorth Therapists
Cigna and its healthcare division Evernorth provide behavioral health coverage though managed care plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Outside the U.S., Cigna provides insurance through Cigna Global Health Benefits.

Cigna and Evernorth HMO plans only cover services from in-network providers and require a referral from your primary care physician. EPO plans also utilize in-network providers but generally do not require a PCP referral. PPO plans offer the most flexibility and a larger network of providers, and may include some out of network benefits.

Occasionally Cigna or Evernorth Therapists in Charlotte will only accept a limited number of in-network insurance patients in their practice, so it's important to check if your plan is accepted when you book a consultation.

Based in Connecticut, Cigna insures 180 million people in more than 30 countries around the world. Cigna rebraded its health services division as Evernorth in September 2021.

Here’s a link to more information on how insurance works to cover behavioral health benefits.
