Life feels heavy right now. If it's not one thing, it's another. You're overwhelmed, burnt out, and feeling invisible. Running on fumes, hoping to catch a break. Sitting in the stress, grief, or trauma is lonely, especially when trusting others doesn't come easily. You're the strong friend, but you wonder, "Who has my back?" Still, you keep showing up, pouring from an empty cup, trying to save face. Life doesn't have to stay this way. It's time to rediscover YOU and prioritize YOUR needs. I’m here to offer support and tools to help you find the balance, rest, and joy you truly deserve. It's YOUR time to take care of you!

Are you a woman reclaiming life after breast cancer, or a man grappling with caregiving, diagnosis, or hidden trauma no one talks about?
With two decades of expertise, I’ve worked with individuals and families across trauma, chronic illness, caregiving, and special populations. But my story doesn’t stop at credentials —I am also a breast cancer thriver. I know the shock, the fears of “What now?” and the silence that follows when treatment ends but the emotional storm continues.

We can work on things such as figuring out how to be less anxious when you have an upcoming test, or even helping you process all the emotions (especially the really uncomfortable ones that loved ones won't talk about) that come with a cancer diagnosis.
I use multiple methods of therapeutic approaches with my clients, as everyone’s journey in therapy is unique and meaningful. While building an open and honest relationship, we will discover effective coping skills and new ways to look at the issues that effect you without judgement.

Greetings! It’s taken a lot just to get here. You feel alone. You’ve been holding everything together on your own, and now you’re finally ready to reach out for support. Even scrolling through different therapist profiles might feel overwhelming. You may be feeling anxious, stuck, or like no one truly sees what you’re carrying. Maybe you’re navigating life changes, struggling to use your voice, or just tired of trying to figure it all out by yourself. If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep going this way.

Working with children, adults, and families has always been my passion. Before moving into private practice, I spent years in hospital settings supporting families through some of life’s most difficult moments, including chronic and life-threatening illness. That experience shaped my approach: grounded, compassionate, and ready to meet people where they are.

I believe that psychotherapy is a meditative dialogue that is constructed between you and I with the purpose of creating a sacred space. The function of the dialogue within the sacred space is to access memories, symbolic images and past experiences that live in your unconscious, and bring those contents into present awareness. This entire process is to help your personality to grow and often decrease the experience of emotional and spiritual pain.

You were raised in an unpredictable family often filled with dysfunction. You were handed responsibility at an early age due to familial circumstances, and you have built your identity on being the "strong one" in your relationships. You struggle with expressing your needs, emotions, and boundaries with others. You worry that, if left unchecked, one day you will continue to repeat the patterns of generational trauma expressed by others in your family. If you resonate with the above statements, I think it is incredibly brave of you to consider seeking help. It is never too late to rewrite the story you wish to tell with your life.

Cancer Therapists

How does cancer affect mental health?

A cancer diagnosis is a major life event that can significantly influence the mental health of any individual. Being diagnosed with cancer often introduces a sense of uncertainty about the future, which can cause clients to experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and significant distress. Many cancer patients may also worry about the toll that their diagnosis may have on their family, their physical health, their job, and their financial situation. The compounding of such stressors can also decrease mental health in clients and may lead to additional symptoms that can influence mental health, such as sleeping difficulties or social withdrawal.

What is the best psychological therapy for cancer patients?

The best type of psychological therapy for cancer patients is highly dependent on the needs of the individual. The therapy type that a client benefits from may also depend on what stage of the cancer journey they are in. Recently diagnosed cancer patients, for instance, may benefit from therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can help clients develop skills to manage the emotional distress that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Alternatively, cancer patients further along in their journey may benefit from therapies like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or other forms of mindfulness therapy to help manage symptoms or physical pain associated with treatment. Clients may also consider group therapy, which offers cancer patients an opportunity to receive support from other individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Are there any risks or drawbacks in going to therapy while dealing with cancer?

Although attending therapy while dealing with a cancer diagnosis can be helpful, one major concern for cancer patients can be the financial cost of seeking therapy. Many therapists are out-of-network, meaning they do not accept insurance, and thus clients are expected to pay the entirety of the session fee. Since many cancer patients may be out of work as a result of their diagnosis or cancer treatment regimen, the costs of therapy sessions can be substantial. Luckily, many cancer centers and local clinics may offer free or substantially reduced-cost counseling services to cancer patients and their families. In addition, cancer patients may be eligible for grants or other forms of funding from local agencies and nonprofits to seek therapy for their cancer diagnosis. Such opportunities can be very helpful for cancer patients, as they allow clients to obtain the benefits of therapy without the financial strain.

How long does cancer therapy typically last?

The length of cancer therapy depends on the needs of each client. In some cases, cancer patients may only require therapeutic support during the period following their initial diagnosis—to help manage the uncertainty and shock of a cancer diagnosis. In other cases, clients may choose to receive therapy throughout their treatment, and even following, their cancer journey. Pursuing therapy for a longer period of time can help clients develop a deeper relationship with their therapist and provide opportunity to process the challenges presented by cancer treatment, such as physical pain, and challenges associated with cancer survivorship, such as ongoing identity concerns, physical limitations, or relationship challenges.
