No matter where you are on this journey we call life, we can all benefit from support, free of judgment, to explore, grow, and evolve into the best versions of ourselves. It's exhausting and overwhelming, the feeling of being stuck in a seemingly endless cycle. Your thoughts run away with you, anxious and jumbled, trying to make sense of everything that has happened in your life, leading you up to this point. You want to make lasting changes, but deciding where to start feels impossible. You desire happiness, peace, and balance, but it is so hard to get perspective on your own. I would be honored to support you in self-exploration.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology and graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My therapy approach is taken from an attachment theory and perspective. I believe humans are wired to feel connected and that we all greatly benefit from healthy relationships. Without this connectedness, we may experience loneliness or isolation. I provide a safe, accepting space for individuals, couples, and families using a positive Existential Therapy Model to support self-awareness, meaningful relationships, and values of life.
Virtual Sessions Only. North Carolina clients Only. I truly believe that empowered people can face any challenge that comes their way. Helping those that are willing to face their fears and connect the dots over various life experiences, provides for great therapeutic work to be done for any client! Weekday appointments available: My approach to therapy is attachment based psychoanalysis with a trauma focus. All humans have the basic fundamental need to be loved, be seen, and be heard. Our beliefs, feelings, behavior patterns, and relational dynamics are driven by these needs before we could articulate. We learned about our world through our first relationships and these subconscious attachments. We work with the subconscious, identify how your attachment reinforces choices, and unworked through feelings. You may not have an identified traumatic experience; rather, you experienced an event that was too complex to process then.
Life is full of many unexpected changes and challenges. I believe that when someone is experiencing a difficult life event, there is the opportunity for growth. But all too often, this event can consume and control us. If you are looking at this site, my guess is that you can relate to these words, and are seeking the help and support to be able to move forward in a positive and fulfilled way. I offer an empathic, supportive and non-judgemental approach to therapy with the goal of helping you, the individual, feel both secure and confident to make the changes that you desire.

I am passionate about working with individuals and families. I believe the client/ therapist relationship is a critical component of the therapeutic process and place emphasis on maintaining a nonjudgmental, caring, and safe environment for my clients. My compassion and use of evidence-based research models provide a space for me to empower and support clients. I believe that the therapy process is collaborative, both therapist and client work together to develop strategies and tools to help clients transition through stressful times. Using both long and short-term therapy approaches, I create an individual approach for clients.
As a survivor of sexual or physical trauma, you often feel like you can’t have the peaceful and fulfilling life you want. It seems that you are alone, and that your loved ones and friends struggle to relate to your experience. It seems as if your past has infected every part of your life, and you can't help but feel trapped. You may often feel shame and embarrassment, and a fear of being vulnerable to others. You may even feel blamed and judged for things that happened far beyond your control. You deserve to feel empowered, and to take back the control over your life that feels out of reach.
