INDIVIDUAL THERAPY for Adult Women .
Trauma and Abuse, Depression and Anxiety, Relationship Challenges and Boundaries...these issues are interconnected and impact our whole being. When we've been harmed by the people God designed to love us, this shame message is so pervasive, it's almost impossible to understand that this shame is lying to you about you. Difficult but not impossible. If you want to change, grow, and heal, I hope you will contact me.

With training in feminist and multicultural theories, I counsel from an anti-oppressive lens and have spent most of my career working with the LGBTQ+ community, women , chronically ill clients, and immigrant populations.
When we experience trauma, we are often left feeling alone, misunderstood, invisible, and unsafe, even within ourselves. Through the process of therapy, we can regain hope, connection, safety, and understanding of ourselves and others. I use wide-range of evidenced-based modalities, from psychodynamic and CBT to EMDR and somatic therapies to decrease the emotional reactivity, tension, and isolation that trauma can create. Regardless of our trauma histories, our modern world can contribute to feelings of disconnection, dissatisfaction, and uncertainty about our worth and our purpose.

My specialty is working with women dealing with the demand of being everything to everyone, in the midst of their own struggles.
You've found yourself sitting in the car a little longer each day. Secretly, you sometimes hate going to work or arriving home. Breathing deeply, you brace yourself before walking into the chaos. You feel overwhelmed, overworked, & unseen. It's incredibly lonely being everyone's everything. Frustrated you think, "What is work-life balance?" As a mom or working woman , you are struggling to keep it all together. Life shouldn't feel like this! It's time to rediscover yourself and prioritize YOUR needs. I can provide the tools to help you find the balance & rest you deserve. Your professional & personal life will change for the better!

Do you often feel stressed and anxious? I enjoy helping women grow in freedom from anxiety, feeling isolated & overwhelmed in their personal &/or professional lives. I know from working with clients, they want peace of mind, to experience healthy relationships, feel fulfilled in who they are and lead lives of impact. Yet, sometimes we wonder after experiencing ongoing circumstances of disappointment and undue stress, where that woman went or how to find her again...Day to day reality, especially through significant times of change, can be overwhelming, resulting in feeling weighed down by much to do’s and a drive to keep performing.

I enjoy working with women to find ways to deal with life's challenges; thus, making life more enjoyable.
I understand that life sometimes presents with challenges that seem difficult to overcome. Often these challenges contribute to mental heath problems, such as depression and anxiety. Left untreated, these problems can affect multiple areas of one's life.

My background in eating disorder treatment provides me with a unique lens on the struggles that women face on a daily basis.
As a therapist, my aim is to meet you where you are. By using a person-centered and strengths-based approach, we can work together to determine the best techniques to help you create and realize your “life-worth-living.” I have an eclectic style, often pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Informed, Motivational Interviewing, and narrative therapy. Health and wellness are holistic concepts that require creative and personalized care. Together, we can work to meet your goals and achieve what wellbeing means to you.

Motherhood (and fatherhood!) looks different on everyone. My passion for maternal mental health sparked after having my daughter and I was able to fully appreciate the challenges and range of emotions that surface within parenthood from a lived experience. I then sought to specialize in Perinatal Mental Health to shift my focus from counseling children to counseling parents. When most people hear about Perinatal Mental Health, they often think of postpartum depression- but Perinatal Mental Health encompasses so much more than that! I work with women in all stages of parenthood including infertility, grief, and loss.

We are meant to be whole and well, with the ability to recover and heal. I help women and men with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I listen, then share information and tools that will help with their specific needs. My clients suffering with anxiety will be taught skills to become more grounded and self assured. My clients experiencing depression are given hope and tools. Couples in crisis or wanting a better relationship can thrive instead of just survive in the model I use. As a RN, I am specifically trained in how the body responds to stress, trauma, and change.

*I'm a first generation Asian American woman supporting others who are finding their voice!*.
I know it can feel like a challenge to ask for help - I know because I've done it myself. You've started to reflect on some of the things that have happened to you in life, maybe based on the way you were raised or significant events that have altered your way of living and thinking. You may feel stuck, you want more from your life and you want to change. You understand that in order to make change, you've got to work through some layers of your mind that can be inhibiting your growth. Allowing another person to hold your story with you sounds iffy but there is deep relief in knowing you are not alone.

We are passionate about helping the women that do it all for everyone else, but herself.
We understand how challenging it can be to cope with chronic illness, the loss of a loved one or living with the feeling of being unseen because you are the one that everyone else turns to. These experiences can bring up complex emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, and anxiety, and can leave you feeling overwhelmed and isolated. That's why we offer a compassionate and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and learn how to cope with your challenges in a healthy and empowering way. Healing is a journey, and we are here to walk with you through it, with a personalized approach to healing and growth.

I specialize in working with women who are highly motivated to release their inner scars from emotional trauma throughout their lifetime also known as complex trauma.
You are looking to break free from patterns in your life and in some ways you have succeeded and in other ways, it seems like a never-ending challenge. Trying to figure it all out on your own is not quite working as you find yourself reliving past situations that seem impossible to escape. There is a part of you that feels like no one understands so the internal struggle may even seem lonely at times causing you to feel defeated by your own life. You are tired of living this way yet you have hope and believe that your struggle can become your story. You imagine living a freeing life where you are genuinely happy again.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
