I offer convenient virtual sessions where you can meet me through a secure online platform, from the comfort of your home.
Many people come to therapy feeling as though they cannot take, “one more thing” - they’re overwhelmed, exhausted, or burned out. Some are coping with symptoms that don’t have a clear explanation - and they're feeling dismissed, unheard, or minimized by others. Some are parents or caregivers navigating the emotional weight of supporting loved ones with immense needs, including chronic illness, or other complex conditions. As an LCSW and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, I strive to create a space where you feel supported, believed and respected, rather than judged or ignored.

I offer sessions in person or online at AlphaMind Counseling Centers.
Want to have meaningful, healthy and happy relationships? I specialize in anxiety, depression, emotional abuse recovery, sexual abuse and C-PTSD. I am EMDR trained and utilize CBT in my sessions. My counseling journey began when I recognized my passion for helping others. I embarked on a path to merge to heal not just the mind, but the soul as well. I have dedicated my time to volunteering at a battered women's shelter and a substance abuse program for women and children. This has deepened my understanding of trauma and resilience, fueling my commitment to supporting those affected by domestic violence, trauma, and life changes.

When life feels heavy—when anxiety, grief, or relationship struggles start to dim your sense of peace—it can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and the people you love. But you don’t have to keep doing this alone. You deserve a space where you can breathe, unpack what’s been weighing on you, and find your way back to yourself. As a counselor, my primary goal is to create a safe, authentic, and supportive environment where you can feel welcomed, seen, and valued. I believe that healing begins with fostering a healthy relationship with yourself, and I hope to help you reconnect with yourself.

I have learned to make virtual therapy a valuable tool in discovering a client's world!
Do you long for days that are meaningful and calm? Maybe you want to behave more wisely and authentically in your relationships, or be more trusting of yourself and others. Perhaps you miss the way your life used to feel—or you're dreaming of a new chapter where you feel more present, capable, and emotionally resilient. Do you often find yourself overly focused on others' opinions, yet unsure of your own? It’s natural to want more confidence but many people quietly wonder if lasting change is possible when anxiety and depression has been their reality for years.

If you’ve been carrying more than you realize, therapy can help you feel less alone with it. Sometimes people start therapy not because one thing is wrong, but because holding everything together on their own has started to feel exhausting. You might feel emotionally drained, disconnected, or stuck in familiar cycles like pushing through or being hard on yourself when things feel off. Therapy is a space where you don’t have to explain away your feelings or make them sound more reasonable. It can also be a place to make space for things you’ve been carrying quietly for a long time.

I offer therapy in-person and virtually via Doxy.
The aim of my work is to help you draft and refine the narrative of your life, identify core beliefs & values, and look for ways to apply those values to strengthen your sense of self. Some of these narratives may include experiences of depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship issues. I employ warmth, humor, and curiosity to create a space where you can identify and bring down the barriers keeping you from who you want to be. As a social worker, I wish to meet you where you are, then walk alongside you down your preferred path, simply helping with forks in the road.

Online Therapists

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
