It can be so hard to be in our experiences of life. For many reasons, we can find ourselves stuck, worried, sad and lost. We can lose our anchors, our values, our meaning and our quality of life. We can experience terrible traumas and struggle in relationships with others and with ourselves. We can lose our capacity to feel agency in our own lives and to stay engaged and curious with our own unique journeys. We do not find our way in isolation. I believe that, in working together, we are better equipped to navigate the journey and to feel good about the direction it takes.

Often, the relationships and experiences that make up our lives shape our view of ourselves and become the filter through which we view the world. Do you find yourself feeling insecure in social settings or relationships, waiting to be rejected? Or, do you find yourself rejecting others when you really want a close connection? Many of us either feel plagued by big, overwhelming emotions, or feel numb or like we can't identify or feel our emotions.

Currently accepting new clients - Are you experiencing anxiety or stress? Struggling through a life transition? Feeling uncertainty? Wishing to feel less sadness? Or maybe you're hoping to recover from past wounds? These are some of the most common issues I help people overcome. You have the capacity to heal and grow, although sometimes it's helpful to have professional assistance to process our experiences and to learn how to listen inward and become self-empowered.

I believe therapy should be a space of connection, curiosity, and compassion—where individuals feel safe to explore their experiences and move toward healing at their own pace. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, ADHD, life transitions, and relationship challenges. No matter where you—or your child—are in the journey, you deserve support and understanding. I would be honored to create a collaborative, affirming space where healing and growth can unfold.

Moving to a retirement community can be the right choice for long term security, but the losses start compounding. Loss of a family home, perhaps loss of a career or changes in health. Your spouse and friends maybe be gone. Or perhaps you're at home trying to manage a body that's more and more unreliable. Your independence is important and moving isn't an option. Both situations are difficult. What does it look like for this phase of life to be successful. How do you live each day to the fullest when it's full of pain, doctors and medical scares. Life isn't over, so let's work together to find joy, laughter, and meaning.

Many people come to therapy feeling as though they cannot take, “one more thing” - they’re overwhelmed, exhausted, or burned out. Some are coping with symptoms that don’t have a clear explanation - and they're feeling dismissed, unheard, or minimized by others. Some are parents or caregivers navigating the emotional weight of supporting loved ones with immense needs, including chronic illness, or other complex conditions. As an LCSW and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, I strive to create a space where you feel supported and respected, rather than judged or ignored.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
