Just like Forrest Gump says “Life is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you are going to get.” Life will be filled with joys, it will be filled with sorrows, and I don’t even know what is happening anymore but I am going along for the ride. With all these experiences we would like to share it with someone whether a close friend, a family member, or our spouse/partner. But…there are some things that we get stuck in life not being able to process, or our supporters might not understand. That we might need to reach for outside help, which is okay. I can be that person you reach out to.

**Currently not accepting new Clients**. Life can be challenging at times and wrought with frustrations, sadness or anxieties. However, with therapy, those challenges don't have to be insurmountable. I believe therapy is about guiding you toward an emotionally healthy path in order to create the life you desire. The fact that you are searching for a therapist who feels like a "good fit" for you or your family , is an important first step (and a very courageous one). My goal is to support you along your journey by providing a non-judgmental and respectful atmosphere, as we jointly work toward you finding personal contentment.

Are you or a loved one struggling with internet porn, sex addiction, serial affairs, or compulsive masturbation? Tired of living a double life--lying to your partner, friends, family ? Shame and guilt often prevent sex addicts from seeking the help they need. Partners, in turn, feel overwhelmed by shock, anger, grief, and a deep sense of betrayal upon discovering the addict's secret life.I specialize in working with sex addicts, their partners and families in a confidential treatment program free of judgment or condemnation. I firmly believe that recovery is possible for this problem.

By utilizing and enhancing the resources you already possess to break patterns no longer serving you, I seek to empower you and your family with unique tools while building a safe and trusting relationship.
Now more than ever, we face loneliness, isolation, and confusion during these uncertain times. Therapy should be based on creating a safe and trusting relationship where you can explore and be your most authentic self. It is my philosophy that we all need a strong and supportive community to thrive. My goal is to work in collaboration, utilizing exploration, curiosity, and self-discovery. We work together on igniting the resiliency you already possess. I am passionate about providing a safe space for young adults, individuals, and families as we work towards finding more harmony your relationships and connection with yourself.

I've focused on adults, couples, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, controlling anger, family conflict, substance abuse, and behavioral issues.
My practice over the past 25 years as an LCMHC has allowed me to help people of diverse backgrounds overcome a variety of life's challenges. I help people by meeting with them, learning about their problems and discovering ways for them to feel more at ease. The most common issues that I help people with involve their moods (for example sadness, worrying, anger or stress) and with their relationships. The type of psychotherapy I do is very intense and short term compared to other types of counseling. It’s called Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. It means that we explore the ways your thoughts, beliefs and feelings affect each other.

As appropriate, I incorporate trauma-informed interventions such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), alongside person-centered mindfulness and creative techniques, like artistic expression, movement, and sandplay.
Hello! I am glad you are here. Have you ever felt as though you are a “highly sensitive person”? Maybe you identify with feeling simultaneously like you are “too much” and “not enough." Outwardly, you might have mastered appearing as though you “have it all together” and can “do it all.” Inside, you may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and like your body is saying that it’s all too much. Perhaps you recognize these traits in your child, and you’re looking for help with learning how to best support them. I am here for you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing art therapy along with traditional "talk" therapy addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, parenting, and other challenges. I create a personalized approach (including utilization of techniques from art therapy, solution-focused, person and family centered, cognitive-behavioral, and Yalom therapeutic models) for the adolescents/adults served and empower you to develop the skills and confidence needed to address future issues. Art therapy provides the opportunity to further optimize possibilities for insight, processing, and developing new tools for expression of thoughts/ feelings in ways traditional therapy may not be able to bring about.

We all seek to achieve a balanced life, but little do we often pour into ourselves. The few times we do cater to ourselves, the biggest piece of us goes untouched. Mental health is a big part of our identity and self-care that deserves a little more TLC. Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
