Using a holistic and strengths-based approach, I incorporate theoretical models such as
EMDR
, CBT, DBT and MI to support each person's needs and journey to healing.
I specialize in treating adults that have endured trauma, treatment for anxiety, stressors, self-esteem, depression, boundaries and other issues. In addition I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. I believe in meeting people where they currently are in a non-judgmental, positive, open minded, relational approach. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" experience and each person's process is unique. My goal is to partner with clients to create a process that meets the client's needs and goals for fulfilling lives.

Hello! I am glad you are here. Have you ever felt as though you are a “highly sensitive person”? Maybe you identify with feeling simultaneously like you are “too much” and “not enough." Outwardly, you might have mastered appearing as though you “have it all together” and can “do it all.” Inside, you may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and like your body is saying that it’s all too much. Perhaps you recognize these traits in your child, and you’re looking for help with learning how to best support them. I am here for you.

I'm trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mentalization-based therapy (MBT), Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (
EMDR
).
I love dogs, specifically Boston Terriers. I love music and was a touring musician for a bit. I love sports and am the type to wake up at 4am on a Saturday to watch a soccer match. Humor is so important. Long walks on the beach are cool, too. I say all this because before I am a therapist, I am a person with interests and hobbies. In my opinion, too much of the traditional therapeutic process can feel sterile and impersonal. This approach might not work for all but hey, honesty is important. You may have told social media about your mental health acting up, now tell a licensed professional.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
