I provide individual counseling and psychotherapy for adults and young adults from all walks of life. My approach is informed by psychodynamic and contemporary psychoanalytic practices which suggest that emotional and behavioral challenges often stem from wounds in our past, and they manifest throughout our lives in the form of distressing symptoms and patterns of painful experience. When left unattended, these patterns will continue to surface again and again until we bring awareness to them.

Therapy comes in many different flavors. So, it is important to find a therapist that has training and experience in addressing your goals, that can relate to you, and that you feel good about working with. I work with individuals seeking to let go of behavior that no longer serve them, those who are seeking greater self-awareness and the root cause of any pain or distress they are experiencing, and are motivated to learn and implement skills to improve their lives. Through collaboration, I offer an unbiased perspective, curiosity, and accountability. Change is the only constant and everyday is an opportunity to embrace it!

Out of network provider for all insurances You're tired. You have to carry BIG emotions all the damn time with no outlet to let them out. You cry when you’re alone, but put on a smile so the world can’t see you're hurting on the inside. There is no time to slow down because slowing down makes the inner critic grow louder about how awful you are. Perhaps you get some release through disordered eating, but ultimately, that voice comes right back again. The inner critic makes it hard for you to accept yourself and love your flaws. It makes it hard for you to live your life intentionally, with confidence in yourself to use your voice.

I believe in change; that when a person is dissatisfied, they can make little shifts that can create big impacts. I believe in the power of the individual. My typical clientele are adults struggling with anxiety, trauma symptoms, or depression.

As far as I can tell from my 15 years of doing therapy with folks, most of our anxiety, grief, depression…most of our suffering…is rooted in developmental trauma which ends up affecting our sense of self. We carry a fundamental sense of mistaken identity involving inadequacy or superiority, expectations of ourselves and others, loss, and painful unmet needs.

Offering Teletherapy in Most States: I primarily use IFS and behavioral treatments (ACT, DBT, CFT, RODBT) to emphasize acceptance of one's current experience, the development of skills (mindfulness, play, perspective, assertiveness, inquiry, and values), and use courage and experimentation to help promote change. I also help facilitate ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and I am strong advocate of developing the skill of compassion for oneself and others. Many of us struggle with finding a sense of being home with reality as it is, although that home is always available and may be easier to return to than assumed.

Are you feeling the crippling weight of normative society as you navigate gender and sexual identity exploration, neurodivergence, and the trauma you've endured trying to fit into society's "boxes"? You might feel increasingly isolated from community, loved ones, and even yourself. Perhaps you have tried finding solutions, yet continue to push up against systemic barriers when simply trying to meet your needs. You might need support finding new strategies to self-soothe when former ways of coping no longer feel safe and supportive. You want to feel seen, heard, validated, and safe in an increasingly unsafe world.
