The body, mind and spirit have natural proclivity for self-healing, but sometimes we get stuck. I believe my role is to simply aid in this natural process while helping to identify and devise a plan to overcome barriers to our innate drive toward wellness. I’ve been in the human services field for fifteen years I have worked with diverse populations including children in a psychiatric facility, adults experiencing homelessness, veterans with PTSD and adults dealing with challenges from common life stressors to serious mental illness in private practice.

Being a tween, teen, or young adult can be hard. Things can feel weird and you're not sure why. Maybe noticing your teen pulling away, shut behind a closed door. Your child giving one word answers when they are usually a chatterbox. New questions about identity and purpose. You may feel that everything is getting on your nerves and that things aren't as easy as they used to be. You know that something is wrong, but are stuck on how to fix it. You can seek safe spaces to process, reflect and embrace your identity as you step into your strengths. Sometimes we just need some help reconnecting with what makes us sparkle and thrive.

In a society where we are judged for our looks, our bodies, our successes, our failures, our parenting, our partnering, and so much more, it's no wonder that low self-esteem, low self confidence, anxiety and depression are prolific. I believe these are significant underlying issues to many challenges in a woman's life and often contribute to self medicating; which can lead to addiction, trauma, and low self worth. The good news is you can absolutely heal! Discover your sense of self worth, learn to accept yourself along with all of your gifts and complexities, and improve your relationships. It truly starts with YOU. I can help!

While being human carries with it difficulties and pain, there is joy and goodness, healing and wisdom waiting for each of us. I love sitting with folks, supporting each person on their highly unique journey of self-discovery (oftentimes REdiscovery!). My intention is to hold a safe, grounded space where curiosity, gentleness, and courage might arise with more ease. Where learning how to know oneself authentically becomes an adventure of the soul. I am deeply interested in understanding how our history shapes us and the ways we show up in the world. I love nurturing folks' spiritual quests and find Nature a refuge and wise teacher.

I work with individuals & couples using the principles of mindfulness that include awareness, embodiment (somatic presence), compassion, and care. From this comes a willingness to be more accepting of self and other, to use more skillful discernment with actions that support you and others, and to feel a greater sense of ease, connection, and happiness. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy that follows a process that helps couples create a trusting and loving relationship. I too am informed by Buddhist teachings and practice that shows a way to relate to self, other, and world that brings happiness and peace in your life.

Asking for help and letting someone in can be difficult and even intimidating. I aim to create a space of trust and safety in which clients can heal, progress, and develop self-compassion. I have experience addressing a broad range of presenting concerns, with a focus on trauma and neurodivergence. I cater my therapeutic techniques to each individual client's needs, approaching clients as equal collaborators, with empathy and non-judgement, addressing thought and behavioral patterns, and helping clients process unresolved emotional experiences.

I am casual and tattooed, and that tends to work for most people... even if it's vastly different from how people picture a typical 'therapist'. I feel very privileged to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community and believe I offer a unique perspective as a trans man (that also happens to be a therapist). I really enjoy providing support to folks while they explore components of their authentic identities. I am comfortable working with folks that identify with being poly and/or kinky (No shaming here!).

Counseling is such meaningful and rewarding work and I am so grateful that I get to do it. My goal is to always be growing as a person right alongside you and to always approach my work with a sense of openness and curiosity rather than judgment. After all, we’re just two humans talking about being human. My hope is that you can learn to further embrace your humanness and leave behind your shame in the process. While talk therapy can be extremely valuable, I recognize that there are some problems that conventional talk therapy can’t quite reach, which is why I typically use a more experiential, trauma-focused approach to counseling.

Do you easily get overwhelmed by the energy of the world around you? The sounds, smells, lights... the constant chatter. As a child, did you find yourself in survival mode - hypervigiliant to everyone's facial expressions, tone of voice, anticipating THEIR needs? Maybe your humor and larger than life personality helped to cope with the chaos. Maybe you got used to doing everything on your own, and now it's hard to connect with others, and ask for help. Perhaps, you gained your self worth through achievements and accolades. These are coping mechanisms that help us to survive in the moment, but often get in the way of our adult lives.

There are many stages across the lifespan, which all come with their own unique challenges. Maybe you find yourself currently going through a new transition and the stress has left you drained and feeling lost. Maybe your relationships have been impacted and you're feeling lonely and misunderstood. Or maybe life is feeling purposeless and you are craving more out of your day to day routine. Are you needing support in embracing life and living in the moment, not feeling stuck by your past and not feeling fearful of the future, but truly being present? Are you wanting to increase your self-confidence and feel secure in your decisions?

The last thing we wish for in the midst of struggle is to feel shame for our human experiences. We often benefit from having another person to partner with during our healing process. It is especially important that we are in the presence of a person who is genuine in creating a space for us that is safe, inclusive, and nurturing. I admire you for taking this step for yourself and I hope you might find it with me - where I will strive to facilitate an environment where you feel free enough to come as you are. I believe that together we can discover the type of love towards yourself that could lead you to a life filled with joy.

I work with adults and couples who have a wide range of goals and challenges. I believe connection to oneself, to others, to community and to spirit are fundamental issues that underlie the particular problems people bring to therapy, as well as the solutions that emerge through therapeutic work.

I am a 20 year private practice therapist specializing in women and older adolescent females. I take an active and challenging therapeutic approach. I meld traditional psychological approaches, life coaching modalities, and trauma work to tap into the small and large ways traumas, significant events and historic negative beliefs about yourself may be holding you back. Therapy does NOT need to last for years if you have an experienced and passionate clinician who has seen what has worked after working with 1000's of clients. I have developed techniques and approaches that are effective. We will move the dial on day 1!

Have you been longing for a different way to be with others and yourself? Maybe noticing things you want to change, but don't know how? Like muting your voice to get along with others, then feeling resentful when you're not heard? Lonely and yearning for a deeper connection in your relationships, but fearful of being known? Generous and compassionate with others, but often impatient and angry with yourself? Quick to offer support and care to loved ones, but filled with dread and hopelessness over asking for help for yourself?

Do you take care of everyone but yourself? Do your intimate relationships, parenting, career goals, and life in general suck away your mojo? When life feels so demanding that you can't keep up, how do you find your way back to center? Maybe you're struggling not to fight with your partner or children. Maybe you're scared of "not letting anyone down." Maybe the thought of conflict makes you want to throw up. Maybe you have no idea who you are or what you want, but you're ready to explore how you got here. It's not too late to salvage your relationships— or your own sense of self and wellbeing.

Welcome! The calming presence of a seasoned therapist can provide much needed respite in an increasingly complex world. At its best, therapy can also help you to get to know yourself better and learn new tools to move forward from a place of self-compassion. I help individuals develop tools to heal from trauma and loss, let go of unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, and identify what they most value at work and in relationships. My deep-seated empathy drives my work with clients, which is informed by my 15 years as a licensed professional counselor and three years as a meditation instructor.

You're not eating. You can't stop checking your phone. You drunk dialed him at 3am and regret it horribly-or maybe you don't. Your friends are so tired of hearing you talk about your ex. But you can't help it! You aren't sleeping or you're sleeping too much. School or work is suffering. People keep saying "You should be over this by now," yet you find yourself with the covers over your head, dreading to face the day. You'll hear me call this "Survival Mode."

Asking for help and finding a therapist can be a vulnerable and intimidating process. So hi! I'm glad that you are here. Staying afloat in your day to day life can be quite challenging in a world that is generally not gentle and affirming. Trying to manage stress and anxiety, heal from past experiences, and explore your identity on your own can feel overwhelming. It's my goal to provide a safe and affirming space where we can approach your experiences with curiosity and warmth, while facilitating growth and understanding of who you are and what is important to you in this life.
