I have been in the helping business for the last 25 years. My vast experiences in life have given me insights that enable me to help clients who suffer from relationship issues within their marriage, their families, their social environment and within their work place. I have also had great success working with clients who suffer from addictions (drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, etc.) and co-dependency issues. My experiences as a teacher helps me work with adolescent issues related to anxiety, depression, behavior, self-esteem, sexuality, gender, etc.

I believe that every human being has the potential to live a healthy, satisfying, and abundant life, aligned with his or her values. My intention is to create a safe, secure, and comfortable atmosphere where I will develop with you, my client, a warm, trusting, cooperative, and mutually respectful relationship. Then, within the context of that relationship, we will explore the pressures/conflicts you are experiencing; what you have learned, during your lifetime, about how to respond to life events; how your particular personality figures into your current concerns; how you feel about your current concerns; and how you express those feelings.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who was trained at Columbia University, New York City, and the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, New York City. I have worked in a variety of settings in New York City and here in North Carolina. I view therapy as a way of working on relationships or issues that are causing distress or problems in one's life. I use a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. I am a Humanist in terms of my philosophy. I see life as a journey. Therapy can make that journey more fulfilling.

I am a licensed therapist with 25+ years of experience. I see adults and adolescents who are ready to work on issues that have a negative impact on their lives and emotional health. I combine a holistic mind/body/spirit approach using positive, solution-focused therapy methods, as well as cognitive behavioral strategies and the many tools from the 12-Step Programs. I work with individuals having problems with addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, anger, bipolar I and II disorders, cyclothymic disorder, depression, chronic pain and health issues, kleptomania, excoriation, self-injury, trichotillomania, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, and PTSD.

I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults who suffer from stress reactions, mood disorders, anxiety, anger and aggression problems, opposition, defiance, child maltreatment, family disruption and loss, ADHD, learning issues, and grief. I have received specialized training in utilizing trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy which has proven efficacious in treating posttraumatic stress disorder, complicated bereavement, depression, anxiety, externalizing behaviors, sexualized behaviors, feelings of shame, and mistrust. I also have an interest in working with bereaved children and family members who have lost loved ones through sudden or traumatic experiences.

Hi! I'm Leslie. My speciality is providing down to earth, exploratory, strength based therapy.
