Counseling is a collaborative journey where we explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. I work with individuals (ages 3+), teens and adults who may be navigating challenges such as behavioral concerns, parenting struggles, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. My approach centers on creating a safe, trusting environment that fosters growth and lasting healing. By integrating person-centered principles, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and psychoeducation, I partner with clients to help them move toward their unique goals and a greater sense of wholeness and growth.

First responders, Veterans, and their families have a unique lifestyle. After a career in law enforcement and the military, it was clear that a more unique type of support was needed. Issues such as trauma, complex trauma, adverse childhood experiences, mental and/or physical abuse, substance misuse, addictions, suicidal ideations or attempts, moral injury, stress, traumatic brain injury/concussion, and anxiety are common. Needs within this community can be a little different, and through assessments, we determine, together, the individual goals and work together to consider appropriate changes.

Whether we’re working with EMDR, DBT, ACT, or simple grounding techniques, the approach is always tailored to you.
Grab a tea or coffee, get comfy, and let’s chat. Sometimes emotions take over more than we expect. They show up in the middle of the day, make everything feel heavier, or keep us stuck in the same old patterns even when we’re trying our best. A lot of people come in feeling worn out from anxiety or tired of riding emotional ups and downs. It doesn’t mean anything is “wrong” with you; it just means you’ve been carrying a lot. In therapy, we slow things down and figure out what’s actually fueling all that overwhelm. We build tools that fit your life, and you deserve support that feels grounding and real.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and patterns that feel difficult to break. Many of my clients are trying to find balance in their lives, whether it is with relationships and self, professional and personal, or past and future. I help those who have experienced chronic invalidation, those learning to validate themselves, guiding them toward discovering their own voice and answers within. In our work together, we can slow things down, explore what's beneath the surface, and develop tools that support emotional balance and clarity.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
