You’ve already taken an incredibly brave step by being here. Seeking support often comes after carrying pain, confusion, or exhaustion for far too long, and you deserve a space where all of that can be met with care and understanding. You may have survived things that left lasting marks, and yet, some part of you still hopes for peace, connection, and purpose.

Life can be wonderful, but it can also be messy and difficult at times. I work with people who face a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life changes, and concern over climate change. I believe that every person is unique, and I bring respect for that uniqueness into the therapeutic relationship. I am continually fascinated at the complexity, creativity, and resiliency of people. It is my hope that my clients feel genuinely valued and gain further understanding of themselves and their behaviors through the collaborative exploratory work we do together. Then a new way of living becomes possible.

A mental health diagnosis does not define who you are or have the final say in the quality of your life. I believe that education is power and the more a person understands their condition the better they can manage life and relationships. I also believe that being allowed to share your journey is an honor. Therapy can be freeing as it inspires personal growth and hopeful outcomes.

We are bio-psycho-social beings, and an imbalance in one area affects the others. Therapy is a process that can enable you to identify what is making you struggle in your relationships, in your physical body and with your mental health. It can help you find unique ways to make the changes that will empower you to become more resilient and capable of coping with difficult situations, as part of an ongoing learning experience. I believe that each person is a singular and unique human being. With that mindset, I understand my clients own idiosyncratic style, and unique ways of perceiving and managing conflicts.

My style might be described as equally gentle and direct, and my approach is informed by person-centered, psychodynamic, and existential therapy.
Therapy helps us explore things that are too painful to be thought about alone. It also invites us to learn more about ourselves and how we want to show up in the world. Together we’ll get curious about your lived experience to find a path toward meaning and hope.

While an “ideal client” does not exist, it is important to speak to the matter of my orientation. I’ve a Progressive orientation. I claim no religion. I grew up the daughter of a Baptist minister & I know the damage such a culture can create. I respect & honor any religion that respects the rights of women. Women’s rights are human rights. I aim to be very clear in my communication & orientation so that no expectations are assumed.

Do you struggle to quiet your inner critic? Does part of you believe if you can get it ‘just right’, you will finally feel loved and content? Maybe you find yourself hyperaware of other's emotions or taking care of everyone else's needs and wants before your own. Or maybe you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or insecure and want a nonjudgmental space to process and untangle what you're going through.

When we've experienced unhealthy relationship dynamics or trauma, it can be hard to know how to trust ourselves and others. This can lead to low self-worth, codependency, repeating unwanted patterns, depression, or relational issues. Safely exploring what is at the core of these issues will allow you to live a more authentic and connected life. I work primarily with women who want to uncover their core beliefs and subconscious patterns in order to consciously create the life they desire. Unburden yourself by learning how to compassionately accept your story, process your emotions, and become the safe, loving place you yearn for.

My clinical foundation includes an eclectic integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, where we'll explore how behaviors can align with values, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic work, among others.

Life has a way of asking us to show up even when we feel uncertain or disconnected from ourselves. Therapy becomes a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters – your values, your voice, and your capacity to move forward.
You may be carrying anxiety, grief, shame, or a sense that something feels misaligned. You’re not alone. I meet people with presence, humility, and deep respect for their story.

The mass of men (and women) lead lives of quiet desperation (Henry David Thoreau). But do we have to? As children we are often not allowed to make important decisions about our life and some suffer attachment issues and other forms of trauma that are outside of our control. Therapy is an active choice we can make as adults. It provides a sacred place where you can feel safe to ask yourself the most important questions: who am I? what do I want? who and what do I love? how do I want to spend my precious life? Change is not easy. Growth and learning is a life long process. It is never too late to become your authentic self.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
